This bookstore, located right at the center of Chautauqua Institute in Bestor Plaza, is much like a college store. It has plenty of books but also paraphernalia and goodies of all sorts. A pleasant place to mill about.

Yes, you can get books here. Most were written by people lecturing at Chautauqua. There's a small selection of magazines and a larger choice of newspapers, so you're sure to find something to read. But more than half of the store is devoted to an eclectic mix of Chautauqua memorabilia and souvenirs. Need gives to take home for the poor... More

Every time we visit Chautaqua we make time for a visit to the Chautauqua Bookstore! The selection of books, cards, newspapers, Chautauqua apparel, crafts, etc should not be missed!

Set on Bestor Plaza in the heart of Chautauqua, the Bookstore is a center of activity throughout the day and into the evening. The lines for the daily papers can get long with the out of town crowd hungry for national news. The author signings draw pretty good crowds as well, particularly after an exciting presentation in the Amphitheater. A... More

This little book store is full of interesting items in addition to the book selection itself - children's toys, art supplies, clothing, outstanding greeting cards, gifts, table top items, candy and snacks, and advice and conversation from the helpful and friendly staff. One could spend hours and many dollars in this great spot and then wander next door to pick... More

This is a small store but it packs an amazing amount of merchandise within its walls. Books, souvenirs, gifts - a little of everything. Allow a fair amount of time for your visit.

These are books that would be hard to find elsewhere. Like most gift shops, they have the usual apparel and accessories that have "Chautauqua" emblazoned on... More

Everyone at Chautauqua passes through the bookstore for something at least once a day. You can buy the daily paper and gifts for everyone. You will always find books written by that day's speaker and be able to get it signed when you meet the author later that day. There are books for all ages, art supplies, sweatshirts, and even...
