We went on a Wednesday (free entry), and because of the cold weather it wasn't busy at all. But that was a double edged sword, because the cold weather meant that a few of the animals weren't outside. I don't blame them though! Didn't ruin our trip, but if we were to go again it would be during the warmer... More

Located in the Beautiful Bronx this is a true gem. You can't see everything in one day so spend a little time when you first arrive to map out the must sees. Purchase the Total Experience ticket because the Monorail is the only place you can see the elephants and the best exhibits cost extra (Gorilla Forest). Sea lions are... More

I've been there a couple times with my niece and her two children. We liked Safari Park. The kids were impressed with zebras, lions and cheetahs. There is so much to see you need to spend the whole day there. Lots of fun for the whole family. I Recommend it!-Daniele Matteo Hackensack, N.J. #DrGraybeard

The last time I visited the Bronx zoo b4 2014 was over 20 yrs ago and I must say it is spectacular. The animals, scenery and trails was magnificent. My boys were well entertained and distracted. At one point I forgot I was in the Bronx. This was a wonderful experience an we will be visiting soon...

We had read a lot about this zoo, especially its natural-looking habitats and how close you can get to the animals. All that is very true, it's great. But two tips: March after the big snows wasn't a great time to visit, as so many animals were wintering somewhere we couldn't view. Go when the weather's good, although I'm sure... More

I can't believe you can visit this zoo for free! Amazing. It's very easy to find and about 30 mins from midtown. Very impressed with the animals they have here, I really wasn't expecting there to be so many and it was so much larger than I imagined too. I'm not sure if it was because it was winter or... More

This zoo was gigantic developed much like a Disney park. This is one place everyone must visit, close to public transportation and great value for your money since this helps natural wild life. I will surely visit again, only down side to this place it closes too early. Please open later.

We have been members of the Bronx zoo for a couple of years....our family of 6 can go in for a whole year for about the price of going in twice. That being said, we have gone multiple times and seen different things each time. Lots of walking, but with the year pass you can take the shuttle for Free!

This took a while to get to on the subway from midtown, but gosh was it worth it! We visited on a Wednesday where it's free entry. There is a $5 fee to see Jungleworld which is SO worth it, so make sure you get those tickets! All the animals have a beautiful enclosure and all seem well looked after... More
