We always enjoy the wines and the family operated winery that started a few generations ago as simply a farm. The only thing that kept me from rating this as excellent was the pourer. He was a stiff. No personality. We were the only ones there early on a Saturday morning in February, but no real effort to connect with... More

We knew very little about Hunt Country, but we stopped in since they participate in the passport program. The host incredibly friendly and went out of her way to answer our questions and make sure we had a good experience. Their wines tended to be on the sweet side for my taste, but I enjoyed trying their sherry--there aren't a... More

Thanks very much for stopping in! I'm so glad you found the service friendly and informative. I wish we could have had more of our dry wine portfolio for you to taste. Sales were brisk this year and we are out of stock of several. If you are back in the area next year, please do stop in. We'd love... More

Hunt Country charges far less for wine tasting but offers fabulous wines. We like the Alchemy red and their semi-dry Riesling and Vidal Blanc ice wine. The gift shop stocks the most locators products of any winery we visited in-around Keuka Lake. Staff are educated and engaging. Keep up the great job!! We will be back!!

Thanks for coming and for your review! You choose our top-selling wine (Alchemy), our most versatile white wine (Semi-Dry Riesling) and our most famous wine (Vidal Blanc Ice Wine). THREE stars! I'm so glad you enjoyed the visit and plan to return. Please ask for me when you do -- it would be nice to meet you. More

What a gem!! The people who run this winery know what they are doing! They are so pleasant, and the wine that they make is excellent and reasonably priced. I am so thankful that this stop was the first on our tour. We were treated very rudely at Dr. Frank Konstantin's winery where we stopped next. We were told that... More

I agree with the good reviews. The staff are warm and welcoming. Our small group stopped there while driving from Niagara Falls to Ithaca. We had visited many wineries in Niagara on the lake and in comparison Hunt Country Vineyards ranked high in quality of wines and pleasant experience in the tasting room. We were glad we stopped. It is... More

We have been here a few times over the past 10 years, and since we were in Hammondsport, we decided to stop in. The staff doing the tasting experience is enthusiastic about their wines and express their knowledge. This is another winery that gives you chocolate during the tasting process. We like dry wines and found a few to taste... More

Chocolate and wine, especially drier wines, are not often thought of in the same sentence, but many pair really deliciously. I'm so glad you enjoyed your chocolate and wine tasting! Thanks for taking the time to write! More

This tasting experience was very good and if you have people who are not strong wine drinkers, it will be great for them as well because you can have a traditional tasting or a pairing with chocolate or cheese. That is always fun. Tasting fee is $2 and wines are inexpensive, so again, great for novices as well as us... More

Wine is ok, Ice wine spectacular but overpriced. Try the chocolate and wine tasting. Great staff, very friendly. Try the fresh grape juice. There are very few places you can get unpasteurized grape juice.

Thanks for visiting the Finger Lakes all the way from Albany! Our staff will be happy to know you enjoyed the chocolate and wine tasting. Yes, our Vidal Blanc Ice Wine is expensive. The scenery at the winery was gorgeous and the staff were incredibly attentive. There's so many wineries and breweries in the Finger Lakes, but I would highly recommend this one.
