I recently too my 11 month old grandson to the Discovery Center. We went on a Monday since it was a day for newborns to 5 year olds. He had a blast crawling around and seeing everything. There was an arts and crafts project that the kids were doing and he joined in. Although he was a little young for... More

This is one of the best hands on museum designed for the young explorer to find how their world works. Children are encouraged to try the jet cockpit, Shop in a grocery, audition at the tv news desk or weather greenboard. Their special programs are great. Very inexpensive. There is no food service but they have a nice lunchroom for... More

This center has 25 or so centers for kids to explore. All of it is hands on, so they can touch and explore. Our family spent ~2hours there, and that was enough. The bee exhibit was very interesting, as was the water ways exhibit.

I'll keep this as simple as possible and adress some other posts well doing so. I saw no staff in the play area, and if they were there I didn't notice. I personally watch my child unlike most of the parents that were there, so that didn't bother me. I won't get into the people...it's not the establishment fault how... More

My fiance and I took our little guy here, it defiantly has the right idea, but very poorly designed, it's a center for children to learn and discover things, but so small, it's hard for parents to be able to be near their children and read the little panflets about the item, or help them. yes the kids can play... Parents will be impressed, too. Lots of hands on with a focus on books and art. Fabulous Story Book Garden in the summer. Located by the Binghamton Zoo, 5th oldest in the US. Free Carousel just before the Zoo entrance. Kids can ride over and over again, just for picking up a piece of litter. Ample parking.

Fun place to always visit. The children has so much fun exploring everything there and all the adults enjoy it too. I think most adults wish they were young so they could play on some things. But alot of things adult and children to do together. I think the kids enjoyed the grocery store and the cafe area and the... More

Terrific staff, engaging displays, a great place to spend an afternoon with your children. In summer there is a wonderful outdoor Story Book Garden.

Your children will love this place. Many cool exhibits. TONs of hands on activities. Weekends are usually a lot busier than weekdays. Good for birthday parties as well.
