I was initially excited by our visit to Gansbaai for this attraction. An early rise in Cape Town, a two hour drive couldn't deter that. On arrival, discovering we were from Perth, Australia (very topical on the shark front as 11 people have died on our coastline since 2000) the guide wanted to know if we'd signed a petition to... I get it, these guys need to create a culture of shark love, or they'd go out of business. But they were a bit heavy on the "have you signed the petition against shark-culling in Australia???" Bit heavy on the "sharkman" idolisation of their founder. We were their to do a shark dive and that bit was light on. They... More

I managed to do a cage dive with this company in Gaansbai. I was very impressed with the professionalism and service. Within 5 minutes of arriving at our location we had the first whites circling and in our time out there we had 5 to 6 different sharks

We chose to go on this trip as part of our honeymoon, and I must say it was well worth it! My wife although in her own words "Doesn't do boat trips" thoroughly enjoyed her experience. The team were amazing with outstanding service. We were collected from our door, taken to Gansbaai for the trip and returned back to our... More

Our experience on this trip was fine - I didn't get in the water but my partner did and he loved it. I had a perfect view of the sharks from the top of the boat and got some great photos, so I was happy not to get in the water. We were given refreshments before, during, and after the... More

My husband, myself and my 21 and 18 year old went to Gansbaii on 31 Dec to do the shark cage dive. On arrival we were greeted warmly and given a good breakfast and got to watch videos of Mike Rutzen swimming with sharks and to read his research results. Not everyone in my family was convinced they actually wanted... More

This was my first Shark Cage diving experience. Upon reading the reviews, we found some boats were taking up to 30 passengers out at a time so we opt for a company that caters less people. Overall, it was somewhat like seeing sharks at the aquarium but instead of the glass in between, you get a cage and cold water.... More

After booking to go on a shark dive with another company (Go Shark Diving) who had advertised shark diving with a regulator and looked very professional, we were told on the morning itself that something was "wrong with their boat" and so we got put with this company instead. The breakfast and the pictures of various celebrities across the wall... More

I was surprised to learn - through hours of TA research on this once-in-a-lifetime experience - that there are many (more than I expected) outfitters that can offer you a shark cage diving trip. I'd dreamed of 'swimming' with sharks for years and wanted to maximize my one chance to do so. Despite some negative reviews here, I was convinced... More
