I’m a bit of an adventure chick, I like to try activities that are a bit out of the ordinary and this was excellent. So on our South African honeymoon, after some paragliding off Table Mountain I was ready for SHARKS!!! We were picked up at our hotel in Cape Town by a funny and friendly driver who was surprisingly... More

Basic breakfast at arrival. We had an introduction speech then went on the boat. We were around 20 + the crew. With 5 less, would have been more comfortable. We had the pleasure having Mike as skipper and while he is not spontaneously talkative, once one asks him questions and jokes with him, he opens up and gets more communicative.... More

Just like others, shark diving is one of my top bucket list to do if im in South Africa. It was booked through our private guide and we have no idea that this company is own by the famous Mike Rutzen until i see a few superstar pictures on the wall and start googling about the company. Overall trip was... More

Like so many others, shark cage diving is up there on our bucket list. And of course, Gansbaai is synonymous with sharks so it was an obvious choice. We contacted Shark Diving Unlimited, as the conservation aspects and expertise of owner/manager Mike Rutzen were very appealing. Our dive trip was arranged for a Tuesday morning, with the phone contact (... More

First attempt at a cage dive for some great whites. Nature didnt cooperate as the visibility was poor and the sharks uncooperative, not the company's fault as this is part of the risk with nature tours. regarding the company though- need a better organization. When we arrived there was no one greeting us and letting us know what the itinerary... More

Just returned from a trip with Shark Diving Unlimited, and I am less than impressed. The good: our driver picked us up ahead of schedule in Cape Town, was super friendly, and stopped for a bathroom/snack break each way. There was a decent breakfast available when we arrived in Gansbaai. Lunch on our return (not on the boat as their... More

I truly enjoyed seeing the sharks out in the water. I get that not every boat will get to see these animals, and sightings may be brief. However, when it came to the service, I felt a little disappointed. I would have appreciated a little explanation of what to expect: have your swimsuit on before getting on the boat, we'll... More

We went out on the boat on November 24, 2015. First the good. Nice to have some breakfast and coffee waiting when you get to the dive centre and lunch when you finished, that was a nice touch, and delicious too. Laura greeted each of us and has the personality to make a business like this work. She was very... More

The level of service and professionalism is absolutely not that of international standards - in Africa with African standards. The breakfast consisted of coffee and old bread rolls and some muffins and mini quiches. Lunch was some corn, leftover breakfast and some fruit. The boat was overloaded, the videographer was the guide too, and we understand that we are dealing... More

WOW, what an adventure! We were visiting from Dubai and had this company recommended to me by my brother who is a fan of Mike Rutzen's shark documentaries. We arrived early and had some brekkie ahead of the briefing. It was then time to head down to the boat at the harbour. We headed out to sea as the sun... More
