Great Museum - they've got it all!

You need to plan to spend at least a half day here... a full day would be even better. There's so much stuff here that will take you back many many years. What memories!

Very interesting, especially if you've heard some of the local stories regarding the area. Pictures show the changes in the area and that adds to the attraction even with the numerous abandoned businesses and homes which is sad. However, the people in the area are friendly and down to earth. I like it here.

We stopped here, mostly because we needed a break, and when we (eventually) found the museum, we thought it was quite delightful. The two ladies on the desk were so friendly, welcoming and knowledgable about their town. The things to see were crammed in, and very interesting. There is a lovely old fire-engine, which has been lovingly restored. Additionally, the... More

I spent a few hours here while my daughter was attending a class at the college. Joy was absolutely lovely-she answered my questions, told me some wonderful stories, and we had a very pleasant visit! There are so many things to see-I made sure to go through each room at least twice, and I know I still didn't see it... More

This little museum is crammed with wonderful historical exhibits for this little town along Route 66. The staff was very informative and enjoyed chatting with the ladies.

My husband and I stopped in to visit the museum and really enjoyed ourselves. There is so much history of the area and you can tell the people in Tucumcari take care of that museum. There are planes, a train car, old farm equipment, lots of local history and it is great for rock buffs. The people staffing it are... More

This place is full of local history. Very detailed, and interesting. There is a main museum as well as several outbuildings. The folks who run it really care about preserving local history.

We just googled things to do on Rt66 and came across this wonderful museum! It is packed full of history inside and out! Three full floors and outside buildings keep you looking for awhile! The lady working there was so helpful and friendly! We will recommend!!
