My family loves Taos primarily for the historic Plaza and associated shops. The local artisans and shopkeepers give you a chance to shop and contribute to the local economy while maintaining this important part of the town.

The Taos Plaza is a vibrant historic district with an abundance of traditional Southwest retail outlets, small shops and restaurants. Enjoyed the shopping and made several small purchases. the relaxed atmosphere makes it a fun stop.

The plaza and its shops are very pretty. It is a good place for a stroll. Some of the shops were interesting but the best shops were also expensive.

It ws pretty quiet here in November. Nice shops urround an open plaza. Plenty of parking and hops and restaurants.

This plaza is beautiful and historic. The shops in the plaza tend to be touristy and uninteresting. Side streets are a bit more interesting. Don't plan more than an hour or two here.

I could have roamed about the town for days. Lots of little shops, loved the authentic Mexican feel of this little town.

Didn't blow me away... Glad I saw it given I was in Santa Fe area, but liked the rio grande gorge better. Was mostly touristy shops in a square... T- shirts, overpriced jewelry....

Surrounded by shops, the plaza provides a place to relax, socialize, listen to music or just enjoy the atmosphere of a small town. Not to be missed.

Don't get me wrong, the Taos Plaza is okay, but it's really just a bunch of shops with (primarily) the usual touristy stuff for sale. I needed a plain, long-sleeve t-shirt for the unexpectedly cool weather, but couldn’t find one at the Plaza. Ironically, I bought one at the Walmart, just south of downtown Taos. (I say “ironically,” because we... More

Too many touristy stores selling t shirts and souvenirs. Must pay for parking meters. A couple of decent restaurants. Nice veterans memorial in the center of the plaza.
