Check out Wheeler Peak from the Moreno Valley area. It's been said if you wear out a pair of shoes in the Moreno Valley you will move there permanently. More

you are not a hiker. I went during the first snow and trudged in unbroken snow with hiking shoes. Not fond of hiking and yet in training to hike the Inca Trail, I was hating every second of it. (After the Inca Trail, my attitude has not changed believing forced marches are not my style.) But if you can stop... More

This experience is definately worth the effort if it can be accomplished. Hiking to the top of Wheeler is a moderate challenge for persons who are physically capable. I have made the climb 4 times, always on horseback. A good days ride, but the views offered from atop Wheeler Peak compete with many others offered in many of our more... More

Hiking to Wheeler Peak is one of the best things to do in the Taos area. It takes all day and could be a difficult hike for some folks. You can drive to a trailhead in the Taos Valley Ski area and round trip its about an 8 mile hike on the new trail, but remember it is straight up.... More

We had a great time riding Horseback with Rio Grande Stables during our vacation to Taos Ski Valley this past July. It was a long day, but well worth it. We started riding around 8:00 am and were back to our vehicle around 5:00pm. We enjoyed a fabulous picnic lunch of roasted chicken, black bean salad, fruits, cheeses, crackers, cookies... More
