Description: Los Rios River Runners is New Mexico's oldest, largest, and most...
Los Rios River Runners is New Mexico's oldest, largest, and most experienced rafting company. We've been rafting through the spectacular river canyons of northern New Mexico since 1972. We offer trips from mild to wild, from half-day to 3-days, from the world-class white-knuckle whitewater of the Taos Box (available as a full-day adventure or as part of a multi-day overnight) to family fun adventures and serene floats. Spend starry nights in the serene Chama wilderness, or float along a mellow section of the Rio Grande with a Native Pueblo guide and a traditional feast meal awaiting you at the takeout. Sunset dinner floats too! And check out our multi-sport adventures: rock and raft, pedal and paddle, and paddle and saddle. Los Rios has more access to more stretches of river than any other NM rafting company, and offers the broadest variety of trips. Come boating with us, and take home lifetime memories.

Both were great, perfect for first timers. Organized, friendly staff. Brian was very knowledgeable and made Racecourse more interesting. Adam was lots of fun on the Chama. I highly recommend doing these if you are near Taos (although the drive to the Chama meet up is > 1 hour so be prepared).

The water was running low so this was not as wild as the river is earlier in the year. The guides really stepped up their game and entertained and made the most out of the Rapids. Their skills with people and the river make this a definite repeat trip for us.

We had so much fun today that we are booking another full day trip for Saturday! Los Rios has this thing figured out! The guides Trenton and Jon Jon were great, the food was awesome, (we learned a new way to cut up a pineapple...), and the scenery was spectacular. We had never done this before, and now we can't... I was looking for a fun activity with my kids, so I chose the Taos Box. Little did I know that it was Class 4 rapids. YIKES. I'm not exactly in shape, and was not really in an adventurous mood. Nonetheless, I went and I'm glad I did. The guide put me toward the back of the boat (safe) and... More

There is something to say for stability and old. We have rafted with this company with our oldest daughter, our youngest, and now our grandsons. The experience is always great! I wanted the grandsons to have to paddle and assist....and they did. They have several options including kayaks. We are planning on the Taos Box this next spring!

Our full day river rafting adventure with Los Rios was one of the highlights of our trip to Taos. Our guide, Miguel, was fun, informative, and made sure we had a safe and memorable experience. This may sound like an odd thing to comment on, but as a culinary student, I appreciated his attention to detail in the lunch he... More

This was the kids (8 and 12) first time to raft. Did the racecourse half day. Perfect for helping them get the hang of things but also ride nature's roller coaster. Our guide John John was great leader, super patient with beginners and full of cool facts about river ecosystem. Highly recommend him and will request him when we come... More

We went rafting with our Scouting Troop with the Los Rios River Runners in August 2015. Our guide was Adam and he was a blast. Everyone was very friendly and great with the kids. This rafting company knows what they are doing and they keep it fun, while being mindful of safety. Great balance of the two.

Los Rios River Runners exceeded my expectations on the outstanding 3 day Chama trip with a small group that became new friends. Aside from the spectacular natural surroundings, this trip really spoiled my wife; all you have to do for a meal is show up at the correct time. Camping was easy and carefree. The guides are excellent cooks, prepared... More

Family of 5 RVing through NM; stopped in Taos specifically to raft with Los Rios. John, our guide&captain, was like one of the family! We had a great time;lots of laughs; learned some technical rafting skills as well as lots of history and info about the surroundings! The river was crowded with boats from nearly a dozen different outfitters. While... More
