Description: Los Rios River Runners is New Mexico's oldest, largest, and most...
Los Rios River Runners is New Mexico's oldest, largest, and most experienced rafting company. We've been rafting through the spectacular river canyons of northern New Mexico since 1972. We offer trips from mild to wild, from half-day to 3-days, from the world-class white-knuckle whitewater of the Taos Box (available as a full-day adventure or as part of a multi-day overnight) to family fun adventures and serene floats. Spend starry nights in the serene Chama wilderness, or float along a mellow section of the Rio Grande with a Native Pueblo guide and a traditional feast meal awaiting you at the takeout. Sunset dinner floats too! And check out our multi-sport adventures: rock and raft, pedal and paddle, and paddle and saddle. Los Rios has more access to more stretches of river than any other NM rafting company, and offers the broadest variety of trips. Come boating with us, and take home lifetime memories.

Family of 5 RVing through NM; stopped in Taos specifically to raft with Los Rios. John, our guide&captain, was like one of the family! We had a great time;lots of laughs; learned some technical rafting skills as well as lots of history and info about the surroundings! The river was crowded with boats from nearly a dozen different outfitters. While... More

Los Rios River Runners is the rafting tour to take on Rio Grande River. We have used them twice and have zero complaints. The all day tour includes a deli style sandwich lunch with fresh fruit and chips in between slower orientation float in the morning and class 3 Rapids after lunch. The administration and guides are professional and well... More

Los Rios was a great company to work with. They answered all my questions and were very organized in helping me plan the trip several months in advance. We did the sunset float, and our guide John was excellent. He was very knowledgeable and taught us all about the Rio Grande Gorge. He was also great with our two children,... More

Our guide Bruce was awesome! We learned so much as he guided us on the River south of Taos. He coached us to participate in rowing while he pointed out fascinating hieroglyphs. We were allowed to get in the water along the way and learned about the water irrigation and flow reporting. It was a safe ride and they gave... More

Los Rios is one of several rafting groups that ply their trade in Taos - but what sets Los Rios apart is their expertise, their attitude and their commitment to fun (safely having fun). I have used Los Rios before, but Sunday was the best trip yet. This year NM has great water - and that makes rafing the Rio... More

We had visitors for the holiday weekend and decided on white water rafting for a memorable experience. The full day trip of the Taos Box on the Rio Grande was incredible. Los Rios runs a very smooth and professional organization but the very best was our guide, Bruce. He knew everything about the geology and wildlife in the area and... More

Nate and Sonny knocked it out of the park! Sunset dinner float was more than amazing!!! Wildlife was breathtaking! Otter, Blue Herring, Canadian Geese on vacation, baby ducks, and big frogs. Beaver dens, old Camino Real, petroglyph, and historical bridges and trails. Whoever wasn't spending the evening of 7/3 watching the sunset from cinderellas raft--- sorry about your bad luck!!!... My husband and I took our 8 year old granddaughter on the Orilla Verde float. It was perfect! Our guide, Josh, was great. He helped our granddaughter out of the boat and into the river for dips. The water temperature was perfect--not too cold like in Colorado but just right for the warm-ish day. We saw 2 petrogliphs on the... More

Going with the flow was never more enjoyable! My husband and I choose to do a full day trip. We began rather slow enjoying the scenery and kicking it up a notch the second half. Our guide was knowledgeable about the surroundings being a native son of Taos himself. He was also great at building up the suspense as we... More
