Well the casino employees are GREAT especially Leon, however the security guards are horrible. I am in a wheelchair and 3 of them stood at door talking while I struggled to get in the doors. HORRIBLE AND NOT GENTLEMAN LIKE !!

Although we could care less about Horse Racing and Gambling, a lot of our 'Wild' Texas friends like it and visit us when they come to Ruidoso.

The Cowboy Symposium is held every October on the Second Weekend. It is one of the very best festivals in Ruidoso. I've attended for many years. Five stages continuously for three days present music and entertainment. Step back in time with Over 20 chuck wagons providing wonderful, delicious cowboy fixings. It has become sooo expensive. $25.00 per day admission. $65.00... More

The racetrack has good horse racing, and it is set up to have a good time. Unless you pay extra to "go upstairs", you have to go get your own food and drinks, but that is a personal choice. Always have a good time. The amount of $$ you spend is entirely up to you!

We love the horse races. We come to Ruidoso most every year for the races. The whole town and mountain experiance is wonderful. It is just a nice town to relax and vacation in. We love it.

Went for the American Futurity Race weekend, extremely busy and crowed; as we should have expected. We have now had this experience and will return the next time on a quieter weekend.

Guess we're talking about the race track and casino, not necessarily the town of Ruidoso Downs. See reviews on Ruidoso Downs Race Track for better info. Be warned (in response to other reviews on here), during very busy weekends (Labor Day, Memorial Day, other big futurities), everything will be very crowded and probably expensive. There are more people at the... More

Labor Day weekend big race! We paid $150 for 5 seats, 2 adults & 3 kids. It was hot in the sun, but ok, we could deal with that...until people that came in for free stood in front of our seats & all along the fences & blocked our entire view of anything. The smell of spilled beer & trash... More

my mother asked me to bet on the first grey horse - I did and she won! A fun way to spend several hours

While I do not partake in paramutual betting, this beautiful racetrack in the mountains of Ruidoso is well taken care of and a great place to attend events.
