This is a beautiful theatre in the mountains outside of Ruidoso. The facilities inside are top notch and the productions are high quality. The theatre is not large so all of the seats are very good. It is a great location for concerts or theater.

The Spencer Theater is a non-profit organization whose patron Mrs. Spencer felt cowboys need culture, too. It is a beautiful theater and the people who run it bring wonderful entertainment both theatrical and musical to our small southwestern section of the world. The Ten Tenors, an Australian group presented their holiday show and put everyone in the mood of the... More

A bit off the beaten path but definitely worth a visit. They have free tour of building (including backstage stuff) on Tuesday and Thursday.

The Spencer Theater for the Performing Arts is one of the Premiere places to go, not only in Ruidoso, but in the whole South West. They draw performers that you might only otherwise see in New York City, and who in the world would want to go there? Har Har When we are at our Ruidoso cabin for a month... More

Absolutely stunning, gorgeous, technologically advanced ... & it's part of Ruidoso. Wish the scheduled talent matched the facilities ... Sort of reminds me of the entertainment booked at the old dinner-playhouses. But, Ruidoso is kinda out-of-mainstream. Regardless, the facilities, dinners, drinks and entertainment combined offer a terrific entertainment experience - &, a real value at that. You can find big-city... More

The Spencer Theater is a lovely facility in a beautiful setting. All the seats are great, and accessibility is fantastic, including parking. My elderly mother and I attended a show there, and it was super easy to park and navigate through the lobby to our seats. The ushers are volunteers, and were extremely helpful. We didn't take a tour or... More

Beautiful facility. Not a bad seat in the house. My wife and I have made several weekend trips from Midland Texas to see shows at the Spencer. Nice weekend getaway!

The tour is great and it's free. Our informative guide took us into the theater, on the stage, backstage, into the dressing rooms, etc. She was very knowledgeable about the theater and the the theater's founder, Mrs. Spencer. If you are a Chihuly glass fan then this is a great place to see his art up close and personal. You... More
