Nice small free zoo

Nice local zoo. No big animals like lions, elephants, rhinos, etc. But they have a lot of relatively local type animals. Foxes, wolves, black bears, various raptors, bison, birds, tortoises, reptiles. Animals all appeared well cared for, and had quite large yards. Local people "adopt" animals which helps with the cost of maintaining the zoo. An enjoyable, relaxed park and... More

IT'S FREE. You go, park and stroll. Nothing too exotic. No giraffes or elephants or anything but an excellent collection of local wildlife and a few oddities thrown in for good measure. Picnic tables and a train on the summer weekends....

This is a great stop for young kids that need some time to run and play. The zoo is a nice stroll with several animals from bison to bald Eagles. There is a small reptile display and lots of peacocks. The playground is also very good. It is clean and has a couple of different apparatus.

This was a very small zoo and play ground that seemed more suited for kids. There was a small pond that only children could fish in. The animal exhibits were not that big, but what they did have was very well done. We did not experience the train for the children, but it looked like it would be a lot... More

This is a small zoo with limited types of animals. But what they have is nice and it is free. A nice place for a walk.

We had some time to kill so decided to go to the zoo since it was free. It's easy to find and nice to walk around. There aren't a lot of animals but it was still enjoyable. There's a nice play area for kids and a lake for kids 12 and under only to fish in. We spent about an... More

A free zoo is hard to come by! If you have ever taken your kids to the zoo you know this to be true. The animals while they did not look thrilled to be their, you cannot judge an experience based on that because animals are not meant to be kept in cages. Their were lots of animals, some even... Glad that it is free, but animals are not cared for at the level they should be. More shade and water access should be available , as temps reach as high as 120 degrees in the summer.

We were pleasantly surprised by this little zoo. The displays were very nice and the breadth of animal diversity was very good. A great way to spend an afternoon.
