And that is how I feel about the Roswell Museum and Art Center. At my instigation my wife and I are in the process of an extended road trip from our home in Florida to the Grand... read more

Museum is laid out with many rooms, some of which we closed. Art is displayed nicely, but quite frankly there's not much of it. Historical section has large case jammed with memorabilia, but very little in the way of explanation. All in all, a disappointment - bit it is free. :)

And that is how I feel about the Roswell Museum and Art Center. At my instigation my wife and I are in the process of an extended road trip from our home in Florida to the Grand Canyon. I just had to come find the aliens in Roswell. Except for the statues and balloon figures (any one up for an... More

Really enjoyed the exhibits on Robert Goddard. Original workshop and launch pad have been moved here. Extensive collection of Western artifacts and local art. No charge but donations accepted. I wish they had more explanations of the western collections. There was so much it was overwhelming.

There are a world of fine displays at this museum, but for me the Robert Goddard exhibit was the best. Not only is his development of the first liquid-fueled rockets chronicled, but the workshop where he built his first rockets has been moved to this location for you to see. Fascinating stuff, and free of charge.

A number of the reviews of this museum aren't even for this spot. This museum is NOT in an old movie theater (that's a pretty sorry "alien" museum on up the street) and they do NOT have alien T-shirts for sale (those are all over town, but not here). There is quite a bit of art of different types. Some... More

This is a donation only museum and well worth a donation. It's just a block away from the Iron Cross which is a rock art relic in a drainage ditch built by the German POWs in WWII. There is a wonderful display at the museum about Robert Goddard who built the first liquid fueled rocket. There are fascinating art displays... More

No high-tech stuff here, but honestly, some really interesting exhibits. Housed in what appears to be an old movie theater, there is a lot of military personnel documentation of the events in 1947. We have always wanted to visit Roswell, and glad we picked this route. Took us about an hour, though you could probably spend a little more time... More

This was an amazing museum & there is no charge! Large variety of exhibits, something for everyone of all ages. We had only allowed about 2 hrs here & we could easily have spent 6 hrs.--2 thumbs up on this one!

An unexpected find for a spur of the moment visit. The collection was interesting with some unique pieces - we were very glad we decided to check it out.

We enjoyed past visits more. The art on display was not as good as in the past. The Goddard space display is always good as is the New Mexico history display.
