I took my teens here for a few hours while visiting Roswell. It was fantastic although not many others were there. Staff was friendly and informative. The art gallery and museum merge into each other, although you can visit one or other if you don't want to do both. We enjoyed the many displays on NM history and also the... More

We visited here on our bus tour. Good southwestern art and historic displays. The recreated fully equipped workshop of Robert Goddard, the father of modern rocketry, is the largest and most complete exhibit. Incredible display with tools, machines and rockets.

This museum is right next to the Visitor Center. This is a great place to start your day. There is no charge, donations accepted. The volunteers are very friendly, you are greeted as you enter and given a map of the museum. There's a room dedicated to Goddard as well as in depth displays regarding the history of the era.... I am a Rocketeer through and through, so visiting the Goddard exhibit was on the radar anyways. It was pleasant surprise when we walked into the recreation of a 1930s era workshop, Goddard's for that matter, and many original works of his! I cannot state how nice this small exhibit is, really enjoyed it. The rest of the museum is... More

One of the most amazing museums for a smaller town. Besides a good look at Goddard's workshop there are fine rotating exhibits that make each visit to Roswell a refreshing experience.

Surprising gems in the permanent collection and small shows. Loved the H Wyeth and P Hurd show. Beautiful! I would come back again and encourage you to visit as well. Roswell is an artist town, too much attention is given to the alien stuff. This is a nice place to feel the vibe that is real Roswell. Farms, ranches, artists... More

I was surprised by this place. Since I was living in Roswell, I wanted to go around to as many places as I could, and I was under the impression this was just an art museum. While I was wrong there, they did have art, and some really wonderful artwork, they had more than that. There are historical items and... More
