The people of New Mexico do not know the amazing art that is in this museum. It's really one of the best museums in the state. The sheer number of artworks here is staggering -- and the variety of artists represented... You could easily spend 3 hours here and not really see it all. This is a gem -- hidden... More

The art here cant hold a candle to the Anderson museum of Contemporary art in my view, but it makes up for it with the historical artifacts from the local area including Indian and Rocket items. This is a very short walk (same carpark) as the visitors center and its free too.

On the list of places to visit while in Roswell. Interesting to see Goddard's work shop reconstructed within the museum. Various art displays. No charge to tour, donations only.

Going to Roswell and not going to the UFO museum is kind of like going to Paris and not seeing the Eifel Tower. Ok... Perhaps not, but you get the idea. The museum is filled with photos, articles, displays and even a few aliens. There is also a sizable UFO library.

We went to the Anderson museum 1st and then to the art center, and we were a little dissapoonted. There are some very nice pieces here, but many were much smaller samples of a much richer display down the street. Go to both! No charge, but the museum and art center is #2 in town.

One of the best "small town" art museums we have encountered. Well known regional artists--we liked this museum better than the Fine arts Museum in Santa Fe.

This free museum and art gallery is right next to the visitor center. Don't skip it! There is a lovely art gallery with a wide range of styles and a museum area with guns, swords, armor, all sorts of military items and an impressive collection of Native American clothing. There is also an exhibit of Goddard's rockets and the tools... More

While much of the history represented is compelling, the haphazard displays and difficult descriptions (laminated notebooks showing hundreds of numbered in the cases makes perusing the materials tedious. Throwing in mixed themed art, some of which was quite good, also seemed a bit random. Still, the best museum in town and in the midst of the historic district.
