Friends who had family in Roswell and had visited there many times recommended this museum, so we stopped by yesterday when in town and spent over 2 hours looking at the interesting art and exhibits.......the highlights were the Robert Goddard movie about his early rocket exploration and his connection to the Roswell area as well as a replication of his... While in Roswell my husband & I wandered from the Visitor's Center to the Roswell Museum & Art Center next door. What a pleasant surprise! Unfortunely during the 2 1/2 hours we were there saw only a handful of people come in. On a Saturday. It has good regional historical information & artifacts including a great gun collection & Robert... More

This is a great museum with varied types of art on display. The Robert H. Goddard statue, outside, and the replica of his workshop, inside, are wonderful. There is a fantastic display of wild west clothing, art, saddles, Indian artifacts, and early firearms, etc. The Peter Hurd/Henriette Wyath art is always represented.

This museum held my attention because of its variety: Robert Goddard's space exploration exhibit; paintings of famous southwest artist including Peter Hurd; and memoribila of Apaches, cowboys, and soldiers. Its a wonderful collection of Southwest treasures!

Much to see here. The Goddard space exploration exhibit is unique to the early history of space flight Don't miss the Peter Hurd paintings. Outstanding museum and art gallery.

A very nice museum for a town the size of Roswell. Great variety of works and special showings. Some well-known New Mexico artworks that are must-sees.

This museum has Robert Goddard's tools and some of his rocket parts. He was a pioneer in liquid propellant as a rocket fuel. Very educational and entertaining. Free admission. Make a donation if you like!

We enjoyed the different art exhibits with the explanation of how they are done. The Western exhibit which has a plethora of artifacts in separate displays from the days of the conquistadors to the present time. The Goddard exhibit was interesting and filled in a lot of details in the story of rocket flight. I would definitely recommend this as... More

Great free museum. Had art and history and a gift shop. Particularly liked the Goddard section. Had lots about his rocket research. Worth a stop.
