We enjoyed the skiing AND the snowmobile tour! Very friendly guides led us through beautiful scenery then served us a delicious meal of sandwiches and green chili stew. More

Red River ski area has a large training area for small kids and older. If you want a little more solitude go up the mountain and take a green trail. The was my second time skiing, but first time for my wife and kids (ages 10 1/2 and 12). They LOVED it! Red River Ski Resort is extremely kid friendly and a total family oriented environment. We got lucky and they had snow day before we arrived. Likes: Plenty of Green, Blue and Black runs. Very friendly ski rental staff. Dislikes: Ski school seems very disorganized. Need to adapt to ways like other ski resorts where kids are out playing or skiing in open area when you come to pick up your child, rather than child... More

Red River is a one-day mountain we stretched out to three. It would probably be a good area for families with young children just learning or other "never-ever" skiers.
