Our first time to the rally, and the country is beautiful. Be sure and visit Taos and Santa Fe as they are close by. We rented a vacation home from Red River Real Estate, and it was definitely the right thing to do. We stayed in Karlin's Ranch House, and the location was terrific! We also had access to the... Most of the snow is man made, not much powder unless you catch a snow day. Depending on snowfall some trails will be closed, one of my favorite trails Ute Chute was closed the whole week I was there in January this year was disappointed but enjoyed the rest of the mountain. Temps are normally in the low 40's to... More

With just the right mix of challenges and kid friendly fun these are our family's favorite slopes to vacation at. The town is just the right size with all of the conveniences, fabulous food, outstanding service a nice variety of rentals and again a great group of locals that enjoy the influx of vacationers from time to time. I have... More

Excellent place to take beginners. Also great for the advanced. The hotel was right by the lift. My niece was in ski school, my nephew had a personal one hour lesson and they were both on the lift by noon. The restaraunts were excellent and affordable.

I have been skiing a few times in Colorado, but I still wasn't confident enough to go down the mountain. So I decided to take a group lesson at Red River over Spring break. It was much more affordable than any other ski resort I have been too and they had better ski rental equipment as well. It wasn't overcrowded... More

Get to the slopes eeeearly to get a parking spot. It fills up quickly. It is very crowded at Spring Break. Also, it is extremely muddy so plan your wardrobe accordingly. The snow in March 2015 was wonderful. All the runs were open and the weather was perfect.... 50s during the day. I'm a newbie skiier but was able to... More

The best part about Red River to me that not everyone else offers is daycare at the ski site. The girls there were absolutely amazing, Kalee (my 2 yr old) loved them!!

We brought a group from Austin and three needed newbie lessons and by the end of the second day, they were skiing on the blues! Good instruction got them there. There are lots of easy greens on the back side that the beginners can do over and over to learn and lots of fun blues for the rest of us.... More
