This little theater is a gem! It's the only "art" theater around. It shows the independent, foreign, and documentary films you can't see in the "regular" theater. Shows nightly at 7:30, and matinees on Sat. and Sun., check website for times. They MAKE THE POPCORN FRESH EVERYDAY AND USE REAL BUTTER!! it's the best in town. Sodas and candy are... More

Movies show at 7:30 which is late for us. I'm so glad we went. We saw a quirky movie we had never heard of that was really fun. Only $5 on Wednesdays and you can have a beer. Very old venue, loved the 100 year old murals on the walls.

My wife and I love to attend showings at this one of a kind theatre. We experience the best of films that maybe you never heard of because the filmmakers are not Hollywood oriented. But the taste of the selection committee is exemplary.

The Fountain Theater boasts some of the most interesting history in the area. The theater itself is run by volunteers. The building is historic and isn't the most cozy but it is quite quaint. The staff is friendly and the movie prices are cheap. The films screened are generally artsy or independent which makes for a much better experience than... More

We are always looking for something new and interesting to do for date night, so we decided to visit the Historic Fountain Theater in Old Mesilla to see a movie. This is a small historic theater run by volunteers from Mesilla Valley Film Society. The Mesilla Valley Film Society is a nonprofit organization which presents alternative, foreign and independent films.... More

It seems that the interior has been somewhat refurbished. it looked like there was new flooring in the back (where the tables and chairs are). Also, the murals on the side walls seem to have been cleaned. We were told there is no longer a projectionist as the films are now digital. The feature was "Land, Ho" an independent film,... More

Love Love Love this theatre! you have a choice of theatre seats, table/chairs or sofa. If you want more popcorn, you can self serve and not disturb anyone! Great place!

Like the value for the price considering we are retired and counting pennies, nickels, and dimes these days with the rise in local taxes.

The FT was such a nice place to relax, and watch foreign films of the week (some in English or Subtitles). We caught a matinee, was reasonable $ 6.00. Was told it has been around since 1905 and it is a non profit group that runs the FT. You have a choice of bistro type table seatings, bar style, and of... More

The Fountain Theatre reopened in early March. It shows non-mainstream films and most are very good. The showings are 7:30 in the evening. They service, coffee, desserts and wine and of course popcorn. There are small tables and chairs at the back so you can sit and enjoy your treats or regular theatre seating to enjoy your film.
