I stopped here on my third trip on the amazing Jemez Scenic Byway and I was expecting a lot based on reputation. The atmosphere was eclectic with decor and an old piano that guests sometimes played on their way out. The food? My house salad was from a package mix and the chicken fried steak looked like it came out... More

When we are passing through we will stop in for a bite and a brew, Or sometimes we will just drive the 37 miles (45 minutes) just for the food and atmosphere.

This is the only place in town for dinner so you just have to take it as it comes. I had one really good meal here and one ok meal. Service was slow one night and fast the other. Very friendly atmosphere. All types of clientele: families, tourists, locals. Good margaritas.

Lunch visit. Roaring fireplace with oak & pinion wood (it was a cold day). Built in 1918, it looks every bit of that. This is actually a saloon, not a bar. Food was a tad slow, but this is not the city. Friendly staff. Very clean restroom, considering the age. Décor consists of various artifacts tacked on the wall such... More

We never miss Los Ojos and drive well out of our way to get here. Great food and good beer selection, super hosts and the unmatched warm atmosphere make this place a must.

My husband and I live in Albuquerque and have a cabin in Jemez Springs. When we are up there on the weekend, we love to drive in to have dinner at Los Ojos. The owner is very friendly and helpful. He makes sure everyone is having a good time. We love the old timey atmosphere and collections of stuff. There... More

I agree that the environment is pretty authentic cowboy "divey." Nothing fancy but my husband and I really like this type of atmosphere. Plus, there was a nice mix of locals and tourists all eating and having fun side by side. The four of us had Mexican and agreed that it was good, but not anything special. The green was... More

I love Jemez Springs. I've lived in Albuquerque and Santa fe and I still don't pass up a chance to head to Jemez Springs to soak in some wild hot springs and get green chile cheese fries and burgers at one of the best "divey" cowboy bars in New Mexico. Los Ojos is so rustic you almost aren't sure of... More

My first visit was eight years ago on the way back from the hot springs --and it hasn't changed (except for an upgrade on the bathrooms!) Friendly local folks, decent food, pool tables and an eclectic decor. Occasional local musicians just add to the fun. Be real, and you'll have a great time! KB
