Description:

The Giggling Springs Hot Springs is located at the site of the earliest Bath House in the Jemez Springs area, and before that, the mineral water was used by the Native Americans of the area. Our water comes from deep beneath the Valles Caldera (ancient volcano) up the mountain. It is ancient sea water abundant with a relaxing and therapeutic blend of minerals such as calcium, magnesium, potassium, iron, silica, sodium and more. The source is 142 degrees F, but the pool is kept at a comfortable 102-104 degrees. The water is natural, and no chlorine or chemicals are added. We use ultraviolet light, ionizers and an oxygen inversions system to disinfect the water, and it is a flow-through pool, so the water changes out regularly. Swim suits are required, children 14 and over are welcome, and for the comfort of our guests, the number of people allowed in at one time is limited--so reservations are recommended.

I read about Giggling Springs from the tourist board magazine "New Mexico True" while planning a vacation in New Mexico. Since I was staying in Bernalillo for a bit, and this is only a 45-50 minute drive away, my friends and I decided to go. Going from the ABQ area to Jemez is a GORGEOUS drive. I've never seen red... Great little hot spring right off of the Jemez river. Two small public pools, one @ 102 and one @ 105. Cost @ $18 per hour. Water felt great but was cloudy. There was no sulphur so it was not stinky. The young lady at the desk was very helpful. Bathing suits are required.

I went to the hot spring after hiking in Bandelier. The staff were very accommodating and the grounds were clean. The spring baths themselves were heavenly.

This is a charming, rustic hot springs in Jemez Springs. Beautiful pools, next to the Jemez river. It's well organized and has everything you need; towels, robes, bottle of waters all for sale/ or rent. The winding drive through the Jemez valley sets a slow pace. Not a fancy spa; just instant relaxation. I am going to make it a... More

I particularly enjoyed the pristine water, the temps were perfect. A dip to cool off in the river is awesome - wear water shoes in the river. Well maintained and staff very

Highly recommend! We turned up on a sunny November afternoon with no reservation but Jim was more than welcoming to let us in. We originally chose just the single hour but once you are there you just want to stay, so we spent two hours. We shared the pools with two other people so it was lovely and quiet. You... More

We arrived without a reservation just before noon. We knew that the Springs limits the amount of people that can occupy the pools. The attendant was upbeat and welcoming as she showed us the grounds. We were thrilled by what we saw. We were the only ones at the pools for the first half hour. It was simply delightful to... More

We drove from Santa Fe on the northern route through the Douglas fir forest-beautiful drive! We stayed for two hours and were the only guests. It is tranquil, quiet and beautiful. Jim was very attentive and checked in with us often. We drove back the southern route past Albuquerque and both drives were equally beautiful desert scenery. We'll be back... More

I initially booked one hour but had such a terrific time that I extended for another hour. The owner was kind and made a delicious smoothie for me. She recommended a local place for lunch when I asked. The water feels wonderful and I left feeling very refreshed. I want to go back someday.

Did you know that the NM True ad campaign used Houston as a round table discussion of what they thought about New Mexico. They said it was all desert and NM was just a state to go through going somewhere else! When asked about hot springs, they had no interest. Thank you for proving them wrong! Tell all your friends...
