There were three things about the Deming Luna Mimbres Museum that stood out for me-the size, the wide range of exhibits (including unusual items like a 1867 square grand piano, a hand-held fan collection complete with instructions on how to "flirt", and a 4.5 billion year old meteorite), and the fact it is run by volunteers and is FREE!!! You... More

The Museum was worth the visit. It was much larger than it looked from the outside. It is free - they have a donations box so make sure you donate something. The building is very clean and everything is well presented. Most of what is in the museum has been donated by people in the area. There are some very... More

This place is amazing! Terrific, friendly volunteers, Varied displays and the largest collection of Mimbres pottery anywhere. If you're in Deming, plan to spend some time here. You won't be sorry.

What a nice little gem. This is a very nice little Museum and the members were very helpful and friendly. It is amazing that the citizens of this little city have managed to save so much of their past. We spent several hours and could have spent several more if we had the time. It might be worth a over... More

Another great small-town historical museum. DLMM is filled with memorabilia from Deming's prosperous past as a Rail Road town, to collections of artifacts left by the native Mimbres Indians, and much more. We spent three hours here, and while you could whisk thru faster if time is limited, it would also be easy to spend several weeks in the museum!... More

Following an overnight stop in Deming, we visited this museum on a whim. It is not a traditional, tightly-curated museum. It's something better -- an eclectic, eccentric look at the history of Deming through collections and displays ranging from poignant to unexpected. As a result, it couldn't have been more enjoyable. Civic pride at its best.

Stopping here on the way to the City of Rocks was a great way to break up a long ride from Alamogordo. Americana at its finest all well preserved and presented in an informative and interesting manner. The volunteers who worked here was freindly and helpful. The pottery was displayed well and clearly identified showing the history of the native... More

I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to this museum. It was full of so many interesting items, from a doll collection to the history of the military action in the area which included the first use of airplanes and motorized vehicles in a military action. The artifact collections for the Mimbres Indian Tribe was amazing and the patterns on their pottery... More

We liked everything about this museum. If was like a miniature Henry Ford Museum. Fun and historic things around every corner. We especially liked the Geode Kid's agate collection. Don't miss this little treasure in Deming.
