Get off the beaten path and check out this gem in the desert. Lots to see in this museum. Largest button hook collection I've ever seen...yes I said button hooks, but that is a very little tip of a big ice berg. Lots of Native American artifacts, superb pottery collection, arrow heads, etc. WW II Bataan memorial exhibit. Too much... More

When I was younger I used to ride my bike or walk from my house to here. My grandma used to volunteer here. They have so much history here to see that you can be here for hours! Now being a mother I brings daughter (who is three) here! Her favorite is the doll room :) they have a military... More

You will be amazed at the quality of the museum for a small town. Named by Smithsonian as one of the top small town museums in the country.

This museum is, by far, the best museum that we have visited. There are two floors of antiques, collectibles, and artifacts. The best way to see this gem is to listen carefully to the lady volunteers at the entrance and follow their directions, if you can. The second bit of advice is to get started and then leave to get... Not really a kid friendly museum, but wow do they have a lot of stuff. Their pottery collection was amazing. We spent over 3hrs. looking at everything. Don't miss it.

There is so many things to see in the museum be sure to leave enough time to see it all. We liked the entire museum but it was difficult walking all over the area.

A local newspaper article called this museum "The Smithsonian of the Southwest," and I think we would agree. It's in an unassuming armory building not far from the center of town. It has a huge collection of local and regional artifacts and history. You can spend a couple of hours here without realizing it. Admission is free, although you can... More

What can be said, a first class museum that you may not expect. This museum is rather large for a little town. Great displays of the county, the Mimbres culture, and pioneer life in the old west. You can spend hours here and not see everything. Nice staff of volunteers and well worth the time. If I remember correctly, it... More

You can spend hours in this hidden gem. Such a variety of exhibits - the largest collection of liquor decanters ever, rocks/gems, dolls, a replica of old stores/shops, Mimbres pottery, and so much more! To top it off, it's free!

I have been to quite a few museums in small towns in the western United States. This was one of the best ever. EVERY display was clean, fixed and put together with loving care. Even the ones I didn't particularly care about, were interesting because of the thought, presentations, and labels. And, it goes on and on, thru room after... More
