I echo what others say: What a delightful surprise!

So many interesting exhibits, beautifully presented, that a person should really plan on several visits to take it all in.

PROS: A stunning collection of southwest (New Mexico) and Deming historical collections donated by local folks to the museum. There is stuff outside and inside on the first and second floors. There is no cost to get in per se, but the museum stays afloat off of donations and the selling of items in the museum store. You can literally... More

This museum is better than many museums that I have been to that I had to pay to get enter. It has an amazing collection of historical items that gives you an in-depth look of the history of this city. As mentioned, it is free, they do ask for a donation and it is definitely worth giving it to them.... More

If you want to see the history of Deming, this is the place. This museum has some of the best collections of minerals, toys, Indian artifacts, and founding history of Deming. It is a nice surprise to see the variety in one place. All the staff is very knowledgeable and very friendly. The museum is very organized and pristine. A... More

This remarkable museum received TripAdvisor Excellence in both 2014 and 2015. You absolutely must stop and see it. Plan an extra hour or two to visit. The displays are professional with good lighting and complete with excellent labels and descriptions. Many of the valuable collections are on loan from individuals and can not be seen anywhere else. My visit was... More

We dropped in here not knowing what to expect, we just saw the big guns outside and decided to go in. The volunteers are friendly and let us in with smiles. The first few rooms were not very exciting and we wondered if we might leave early, were not into dolls or china etc. But as we went on they... More

So much to see, so little time! Every time my husband and I stop by this museum we spend several hours walking around and enjoying all there is to see and learn. I always enjoy the doll room. Volunteer staff are always really friendly and informative. Great gift shop. Give yourself enough time to stop and enjoy this place!

This is quite a gem in the desert! A very large building with all the history and lore of the area. It's beautifully laid out and staffed by friendly and knowledgeable people who obviously love what they do!
