Sorry to be a debbie downer, but while we were here, this beach was covered in garbage. Long Beach directly in front of each resort is cleaned up, but as soon as you venture away from the "developed" shore line, you quickly run into trash. Nothing ruins a picturesque swim through the water quite like running into a plastic bag... More

Go here if you're looking for a long beach to run, walk or just choose between all the beach bars around. Highly recommended: you can swim until the sunset and then sit there looking at the boats going out to fish during the night.

The further from town the better Long Beach. Sometimes water can look pretty poor & other days clearer. Also depends on tropical storms as all storm water outlets open into beach ...!so pick your spots. Around Rory's bar is where I found it best. Notes northern beaches - Vung, Ganh Dau & Rach Vem are much cleaner & more deserted... More

The coast road access from the south is closed. If you enter from the north, the dirt road is dangerous and the waterfront is one big construction site. If you are prepared to drive 4-5kms down the road from the north, you may finally find a beach worth visiting. I didn't bother. The whole area felt 'nasty'.

We stayed in a hotel not far from long Beach for 5 days in October. During low season, I guess they don't take care of the beaches as much as they do during the peak season. There was some trash here and there. Nonetheless, the sand is yellow and nice and the water is clean, warm and transparent. It's a... More

Long Beach surprised me. At first glance from Orange Resort, the tan-colored sand was unappealing. Getting on the beach changed my perception. The sand, while not as pristine as the white sandy beaches I have visited, is nevertheless a very, very fine, non-gravelly sand that was actually ok. It was so fine your feet kinda sink into it. The beach is... More

The wind and waves are strong and big making it not comfortable and actually a bit noisy for my taste. It will also rain more in this side. Recommend to go to the Sao Beach during rain season. The sand is a inch more grainy than at Sao Beach but its comfortable and smooth. There are no people here during... More

In July, long beach, the west side of the island is pretty rough. Lots of white caps night and day. Raining at some point in the day is also almost certain in July as well. Water is about 50% clear. When i first went in the water, I quickly realized I was swimming in trash. Plastic bags mostly, they are... More
