After The Philippines, frankly we were disappointed. Especially since the first three days the waves were large. This made hiking on the beach, with numerous dead dogs, even more of a challenge when it narrows in places. The hikes were to Long Beach Resort to catch the Filipino Band! This is THE place to stay at in Phu Quoc. It seems paradoxical considering Phu Quoc is largely a deserted island but you need to stay at a place that is developed. Why? Surf was up, and pleasant to dip as waves rolled in (only mild). You can hire sunlounges and open air restaurant on beach for snacks, drinks or a full meal. Clean changing rooms for a modest fee.

We stayed at a Resort on Long Beach. Quite a lovely beach but very hard to enjoy a walk as the sand is quite different from any I've seen before. Sand is dense and you sink right down to your ankles so you have to try and walk right at the water line to get some traction. I love beach... More

This beach is superb, although we would recommend going further down away from the town as the first part of the beach has tons of resorts/hotels and the sand and water are not as nice.
