The trails cover different levels, thus almost anyone can either go for a serious hike or just a leisure stroll. They also have picnic facilities at... More

If you enjoy walking, bird watching or hiking through proteas and forests past a lake with magnificent scenery and landscapes then this is a must. It is inexpensive to visit so value for money is excellent. Picnic facilities are clean and have lots of lawn covering.

This nature reserve is well worth a visit and there is an eatery and all sorts of attractions. A picnic area is designated for families and children's parties, etc.

Firstly, just to go and sit down and relax under the big old trees. Then there is different activities like the Echo Rangers for the children to join. Hiking trails for adults. During summer months there is music shows at sunset to enjoy. But remember it is a Nature Reserve ...so NO FIRES! Pack your own picnic basket.

A family favourite over the years, the Friends of the Helderberg continue to sustain a delightful and very special area of Cape flora and fauna. There is also a vibrant education centre providing access to the wilderness to those who would not usually be able to have such opportunities. Well worth exploring the trails and taking in the magnifcent views.
