The cruise departure point is on the wine estate. Select your deli foods and wine and enjoy it on the cruise up and down the Breede River. Wonderful scenery on both sides. The cruise is gentle and sedate. Wonderful grassy picnic spots along the bank.

We decided to take the boat trip and bought a bottle of wine on our way out. The boat trip was very relaxing and we noticed some other guests that had ordered a picnic box and they looked very good. We had the wine a little later and it was so good we were disappointed we didn't buy another bottle!

Great spot for a short cruise on the Breede River with a picnic lunch. Choose your wine and deli food to make your own basket. Lovely interlude for families with picnic facilities along the river bank.

We were told about this farm, where they have a river cruise twice daily. Wow it was great. There is a little shop where one can buy rolls, pates, wine, cheeses etc. to eat on the cruise. So different and really fun! Such a change from the normal wine tasting, which can also be done there. The wines are all... More

We went here on a guided winery tour of Robertson. We are both really into wine and wanted to sample a range of wines from the top wineries. Sadly our guide couldn't get this into his head and wanted to take us to places that are nice for tourists to go to where you can try pairing chocolate with wine... More

I was impressed with the river trip especially. Slow, soothing and relaxing, despite the heat. However, the picnic lunch was disappointing; but maybe there is a selection of picnics, and somebody made was a poor choice. A big, dry, hard bread roll with two kinds of delicious pate, a horribly salty roll of cheese and that was it. No salad,... More

The best way to enjoy your picnic - on the Vijoensdrift river boat, up- and down the Breede river. We started our visit with a wine tasting and then picking a cold bottle of our favourite taste for the picnic. A quick visit to deli next door to stock up the basket with lovely fresh breads, cheese, meats etc and... More

Don't drive past this one. I'm not a big fan of the wine, but then again I don't really go for the wine... Here you go to enjoy the Breede River - select your own deli items to pack your picnic, and sit on the deck, grass area or take a river cruise.
