Viljoensdrift is right on the river and they have a river boat that leaves twice a day. You pop into the deli choose your lunch from the awesome selection of foods salads cheeses pates and cold meats. They bake their own bread and the brown seeded ciabatta is to die for!! You then take the picnic basket, knife and plate... More

I went on this river cruise with my normal enthusiasm for nature and adventure. What a pleasure. To just enjoy the view of vineyards, the birdlife and jumping fish whilst cruising by. I also enjoyed the company of the other folk. I think the tranquility of the surrounds lulls everyone. You can also enjoy the picnic lunch that you chose... More

Only tasted one wine (chardonnay, very good) but the best part was the make your picnic from the deli for lunch mission. You choose what you want (tapanade, pesto, carpaccio, cheeses, fresh ciabatta etc) plus some wine and they give it to you in a basket with glasses (can buy bio-degradable plates and cutlery for 2 for only R10 there... We enjoyed a boat trip one Saturday lunchtime. The deli had some great choices and we selected a delicious picnic which was packed into a box complete with cutting board and knives. The bread was still warm from the oven. While we waited for the trip, we tasted the wine - which was reluctantly pored by a miserable and unfriendly... More

A lovely way to spend an hour on the Breede River. One can make up a picnic from the food on sale at the deli and take it on board with a bottle of wine or have a picnic lunch on the deck overlooking the river before or after the cruise. One can sit on the well-kept grassy bank of... More

Robertson area has a lot of wineries worth to be visited: a.o. Bon Courage,Springfield, van Loveren and Viljoensdrift. At the last estate you can make a boat trip on the Breede Rivier. Buy a bottle of wine, some snacks and enjoy the nice view of the river and surrounding area

Really amazing wines. Great value and great taste. The boat trip is good to do if you have time to waste and would like to picnic on the water instead on the deck. Reccommended.

You can choose your picnic from the type of wine, breads, pâté, cheese, cold meats, ice bucket. All of this prepared and waiting for you in you box all wrapped in a gingham cloth.... More
