This is one of the few wine estates that offer a wonderful cruise... What could be better than soaking up the views over a snack and a glass of fine wine!

You can spend a good few hours here. Wine tasting, choose your picnic from the deli, and then enjoy a river cruise

Do you want to have a bit of a special take on lunch? Rush over to Viljoensdrift and pack a picnic basket at the deli (don't forget your bottle of wine), and then... Jump on the boat for a cruise down the Breede River. The deli stocks an amazing selection - from Ostrich Carpaccio to Snoek Pate - which you... More

We often stop over for a light lunch and if we have guess we take a trip Down river with pontoon motor boat. The deli allows us to make up a selection of food for a pic nick basket including one of their locally produced wine. This keeps the cost down and easy to share.

The view down the river is stunning. You buy food and wine at the delicatessen shop. Slightly overpriced. You cannot take in your own food. Boat trips are always fully booked so book in advance. Boat trips not available when it rains or in Winter. Their wines are good. well worth a visit. Green lawn with playground for kids.

The cruise departure point is on the wine estate. Select your deli foods and wine and enjoy it on the cruise up and down the Breede River. Wonderful scenery on both sides. The cruise is gentle and sedate. Wonderful grassy picnic spots along the bank.

We decided to take the boat trip and bought a bottle of wine on our way out. The boat trip was very relaxing and we noticed some other guests that had ordered a picnic box and they looked very good. We had the wine a little later and it was so good we were disappointed we didn't buy another bottle!
