We had a great picnic outdoors at Viljoensdrift – they have various picnic ingredients to go along with the wine tastings. The wine itself, however, was somewhat lackluster and we didn’t consider purchasing any bottles. Overall, this was a great setting for lunch in the Robertson Valley, but didn’t offer any special wines. We have a lot more information about... More

We ordered our picnic of cheese, meats bread rolls and wine. We then took a ride on their boat for a hours run on the river. It was sufficient time to complete your meal and to drink the wine etc. What surroundings and weather to match. The best time is in summer as you are not always guaranteed a boat... More

I definitely recommend this cruise if you are in the Robertson area. Wine tasting and a cruise over the beautiful Breede river. Just splendid! You can also buy wine and snacks to pack a picnic for your cruise at reasonable prices. If you are a Chardonnay lover, you must try theirs!

We were a jolly group of 9 and I have to say this was a perfect way to spend a few hours over lunch time. All at a reasonable cost … you book the boat trip, stroll the deli to pick your bubbly/wine and some delectable bites … when you pay, they pack you a lovely basket with the pretty... More

We spent a pleasant hour on the river enjoying the scenery however it was a little spoiled by the behaviour of others on the upper deck who insisted on throwing bottle tops, papers, burning cigarette stompies and even bottles into the river. Not only was this unsafe, but I shudder to think what this is doing to the river. The... More

Very good value for money and great attraction to visit. Stylish deli and very enjoyable river cruise. Scenery is excellent and great to do in a group.

Viljoensdrif has two sides: there is the river boat trip with a picnic basket filled with lovely bread, cheese, pate and other delights. My favourite side:fish, calamari and prawns on the deck overlooking the river when it is quiet. There are other dishes too, but this dish is mouth-watering. To watch the river and the beautiful surroundings, eases all tension you might... More

What a way to spend a few hours at lunch time, Wander into the Wine/Deli and have a FREE wine tasting, buy your river cruise ticket, back into the deli to choose your picnic food, choose your wine, it is all put into a basket for you to take onboard the small river cruiser for you to enjoy. Well recommended.

Really great boat trip along the river, took a bottle of wine on board and enjoyed the scenery! Ate before the trip at the restaurant and the food was very very good. We had a gluten & dairy intolerant person with us and they sorted a tasty meal out right away. Great service. Friendly people throughout. Highly recommended.
