This is a quality restaurant with the most stunning view of the Franschhoek valley and mountains. It is at the top of a very steep climb so the view is fantastic. The restaurant is 5* and the food is wonderful. I had seafood bisque followed by my first experience of springbok, cooked as recommended medium rare - exceptional. The wine... More

This restaurant is beautiful ly located having a wonderful view of the mountains. It is not within comfortable walking distance of town, being at the top of a steep hill above the town

The view and the tasting here offer a sensational view. You can see most of the valley below and on a good day, its hard to beat. The wine-tasting is average, because you have to fetch your own wine each time, which is almost unique in the area.

.... Which is stupendous. Ate lunch at the Roca restaurant. The venison special was a very fine springbok, which together with a good vineyard Shiraz, went down with very little trouble. Excellent service too

We just love coming to this vineyard, and always try to get ther for lunch time. It is always one of the tastings on our route in Franschoek. We have never had a bad meal. My husband and I had the sirloin steak with bearnaise sauce. Cooked to perfection. Ourfriends had the belly of pork which they thought was quite... More

Last year we missed out on eating at this restaurant so this year we were determined to go. We called in to make a reservation for the following evening and luckily there was no problem. When we arrived we were shown to a table at the very front of the downstairs area and sat with our sundowners watching the sunset.... More

Deeply disappointing. Yes, the location is very impressive. But you'd have to feel that if creating the setting was left to the incompetent staff then the mountains would only be half built and various members of staff would be wandering around trying to work out where exactly the sun was supposed to be setting. For the things that are supposedly... More

As part of the Franschhoek Wine Tram we stopped off at the Dieu Donné and by chanced popped into the restaurant to see if they could accommodate us for lunch. Unfortunately they were fully booked as you'd expect but luckily for us there was a cancellation and we got in to our delight. The views were stunning, the wine was... More

We had a Sunday lunch there and at first sat upstairs. This was good but not great. When booking request at the bottom in the garden. The view is magnificent. Food is definitely above average and tasteful, but the service needs attention especially on a Sunday when filled to capacity. The wine selection is commendable.

We ate there three times within two weeks, two lunches and one dinner. thus we obviously liked it. The view across the Franschhoek valley is spectacular, food and wine excellent. They lost my 5th point due to the bad service on our last visit, when they obviously forgot our order and the whole lunch took two and a half hours.
