The food was ok, but in comparison to our other meals in franschhoek it didn't compare. It felt a little over complicated and baring the pea risotto starter the food was unmemorable which given the amount of detail I would have expected more. Given the price I would have expected the service to be a little more effortless and a... More

This place has a lot to offer as a stop on a winery tour. It's got nice wines, a beautiful property with a cool art gallery and art for sale. The two restaurants looked beautiful and the rooms to stay I'm sure are awesome but they are pricey. The other nice thing about this winery is that it's open until... More

Just had a wine tasting there, however, was blown away by the life sized sculpture in bronze of an African Elephant at the entrance to the wine tasting facility. The size of the facility is not that large and all clients are seated on sculptured metal chairs which can make for some sore bums as they are a tad uncomfortable.... More

Very pleasant hour wine tasting with friendly, helpful staff. Located off main road with beautiful sculptures in grounds and well appointed wine tasting 'bar'. Purchased some red and dessert wine, went down very well on return to UK with family/friends...need to go back for more!

The art at Grand Provence was magnificent, of the best artists in South Africa were featured and of their best works were on display. The sculpture garden alone is worth a visit. The lunch was exceptional, service of a high standard and the wine was sublime.

A smaller, less factory-like wine producer with the most beautifully kept gardens I have seen in decades, bejewelled with statues and water features, this place is a delight

grounds were fantastic. lot of interesting art. The wine tasting was nice as well - run by south african gentleman who had been on the premises for about 8yrs. Quality was good for the wines. grounds themselves were interesting - always interesting to see the background of the families who owned the business. Would see it again.

We visited this place to taste wine. The grounds are impressive and it looked like a nice venue. Unfortunately we were completely ignored when we went in. Another party entering just behind us was served immediately. We waited for over 10 minutes, sitting in the centre of the bar in front of the staff, who deliberately avoided eye contact throughout... My review is overdue but I had to write it after I just opened our 1997 Grande Provence red varietal that we had stored for one year. The wine was simply exquisite and it brought back such fond memories of our day trip to the winelands. We visited last October, had a fabulous tasting and we were sold on the... More

My husband and I had only one short week's stay in Cape Town. Because we believe South African wines to be some of the best in the world, we wanted to take a day trip to the wineries. We researched a bit, and decided on driving out to the Franschhoek area to explore. It was a lovely drive, and only... More
