We visited Grand Provence in March 2015 and it is truly a beautiful estate. We did not have time to have lunch at the garden restaurant, but the setting is truly magnificent. Lunch or wine under the large trees in the beautiful garden looked wonderful. We tasted wine in the tasting room and the staff were knowledgeable and helpful. The... More

This is a stunning place, we have been late afternoon and enjoyed the sunshine. The wine tasting offers good choices--the server was good in her descriptions ending each time with "this is a very good wine"--it made us laugh. There is a tapas menu late afternoon which looked good, along with coffee etc. One of the wineries to visit.

Visited here as part of wine tram tour and was our favourite vineyard of the day. Gorgeous setting, really beautiful estate and stylish interior. Wine tasting was outside under trees and you could choose from different tariffs and wine selections. My tip (not sure whether they'll always let you though) is if you're in a pair, each of you choose... More

a wonderful venue spoilt by dreadful kitchen service. Took two hours to have a set menu for 16 people. I don't understand why these wine farms can't get their kitchens organised!! Food when it eventually arrived was good.

Grand Provence is all about the wine and then it is all about the art. The life size Elephant at the entrance is simply stunning and then it just continues all the way through the rest of the buildings and gardens. The gardens are laid out in a more contemporary fashion and this is just so peaceful. There is a... More

A wonderful place to stop off at on the tram tour. Such a beautiful building with lovely courtyard gardens. We had a lovely cheese platter for 2 and sampled the wines. We popped into the art gallery there which had some very interesting and expensive works of art for sale. I believe a well known place to book lunch although... More

Went to visit for a wine tasting which is part of the Franschhoek Wine Tram experience. A beautiful estate with very good wines. Overall a great experience and outing.

We booked at Grade Provence for dinner. The gardens were absolutely beautiful and a lovely setting. However, the impression was creating that there is no real management or welcoming by anyone to make guests feel comfortable. We were suggested a bottle of wine, which we accepted but made the error of not checking the price. Felt a bit fooled on... More

I loved the setting and the ambiance, that is truely beautiful. The food was ok and the waiters standards were shocking for a restaurant of that level. I think my expectations were just a bit too high but i do expect excellent service in a place of that calibre.
