We have been visiting South Africa, once or twice a year, for eight years. During that time we have visited several different styles of vineyards. Whilst we find the wines at Boschendal to be of a very high standard we have found that the vineyard itself, like so many others, has become very commercial. Well worth a one time visit... More

Boschendal is stunning! Gardens are well kept and the service was excellent. The waiting staff are helpful and friendly. Adrienne, Robin and Blessing went out of their way to look after us when we played pétanque there for the weekend at the beginning of November! Enjoyed the breakfast in the new deli!

As part of an optional tour with our South African Highlights and Safari tour, we decided to try the Boschendal winery tour. Not being much of a wine connoisseur, we decided to give it a try. The winery manor is an impressive building supposedly exhibiting Cape architecture. The wine tasting consisted of five different wines. The red wines were fairly... More

Playing pétanque in the very picturesque grounds in front of the Manor House - a beautiful weekend. Drinking what for me is the best Blanc de Noir and Sparkling Rose in ZA added to the weekend. Too busy to eat much but the lunch board was excellent!

I came here first 25yrs ago and had a magical lunch. Now the winery is a much more commercialised establishment but still offers old world charm with excellent food, good service, good wines and all that you would hope from an establisment such as this. The main restaurant was undergoing refurbishment last week (Oct 2014) but we ate in a... More

We visited Boschendal as part of our tour of South Africa. The tour (Boschendal's) of the winery was marginal, we have been on other winery tours that were much better. The tasting presentation was adequate. I say adequate because most tastings have crackers between different tastings so you can enjoy each wine. Perhaps a small point but, to me, just... More

The grounds, the architecture combine to make this such a pleasant wine tasting. The tasting tables were set up under a giant oak tree. We sat around wrought iron tables with a line up of 5 wines with a knowledgeable guide to lead us.

We were taken to this place as part of a tour for delegates of an orthopaedic conference two weeks ago. Upon arrival, we walked from the luxury coach to the restaurant and were told free seating anywhere in the three tables provided. Although the appearance of the building and the interior looks well kept and beautiful, the same cannot be... More

Stopped over here for a spot of wine tasting and was delighted to see that they offered choclate and wine paired tasting. The really delightful thing is that they manufacture chocolates specifically to pair with their wines. The result is a unique experience.
