Description: Agriculture and a simple farm lifestyle is at the heart of Boschendal. One...
Agriculture and a simple farm lifestyle is at the heart of Boschendal. One of the oldest farms in South Africa, founded 1685, the farm has grown with the passing centuries into a cherished source of wholesome produce, great wines and happy memories. Set in the Drakenstein Valley surrounded by dramatic mountain landscapes, lush gardens and vines, the original farmstead complex is now a national monument with a rich and intriguing history of more than 300 years. Today, Boschendal is a Cape winelands icon and a cherished wine and food destination. Our vineyards and fruit trees have been joined by vegetable gardens and a growing herd of free range, 100% pasture fed Angus cattle reflecting our commitment to serving wholesome farm-to-table food. Guest accommodation is also a recent addition to the farm with luxurious cottage accommodation ranging from the exclusive and historic Rhodes Cottage built by Sir Herbert Baker to the elegantly restored Werf Cottages. Cottage guests enjoy access to the entire farm where they can walk and cycle on trails through mountain fynbos, dine under the stars, have picnics and sundowners in exclusive areas, fly-fish in the dams and swim in pristine mountain water.

Boschendal is a lovely vineyard. The old, beautiful Manor House was well worth a visit and the wine tasting was terrific. Kyle, our host at the tasting, proved to be a very passionate wine expert. He told us everything he knew about the Boschendal wines in an amazingly enthusiastic way. We were impressed by his extensive knowledge and felt that... More

Loved this estate, it felt like something out of a Victorian era, the wine tasting was good. We enjoyed the Capital one the most. I did however feel a bit rushed during the tasting.

We were so surprised to find that Boschendal has a range of wonderful accommodation options. We spent one night in an Orchard Cottage which is perfect for families, and one in a Werf Cottage which is probably more suited to a romantic getaway for two. There are stunning MTB tracks, walks, dams for fishing, restaurants, wine tasting and much more.... More

What a truly stunning location. Boschendal is a magical place nestled in the Drakenstein Mountains. We were welcomed with warmth and met some wonderful people during our stay all dedicated to creating an organic, progressive destination. The ethos at Boschendal is to be applauded. The owners are investing heavily in many different projects and their love and attention shows. Food... More

We came to this wonderful place during our 'Die Werf' restaurant visit. It has a perfect harmony beautifully manicured that can impress many nature lovers. The mountains give another touch to this magnificent picture. It is a 'must see' visit.

Ladies dinner at Table Bay hotel turned out to be a continuous flow of champagne poured into different glasses to release the bubbles.. Trays of champagne kept appearing and beautiful glasses lent an elegant flair to the lovely dishes prepared by exec chef at Table Bay, The Grace, Burrata, Bocca and Ellerman House. This event must not be missed and... More
