Clearly the wine farm has undergone a recent revamp. It really is a magnificent place, with various places to explore, taste, shop and visit. The picnics are delicious and while not cheap, are generous and interesting and well worth a visit for. Our family lunch was a hit for all ages.

As recommended, we phoned ahead to book a picnic in the grounds (although only half an hour before arrival). The waiters showed us to a table with parasol, & white table cloths & brought our picnic baskets with the wine that we had ordered. The picnic baskets were wonderful - full of surprises and lovely food. The children's basket was... More

We have been going there for 20years and the price of everything has tripled beyond belief, it's the most tranquil place but sadly for us locals its steeply overpriced, a bottle of wine that would cost you R26 we were charged at the venue a beastly R78 and a platter of cold meat we had was very sparingly plated set... Beautiful surroundings and be sure to come here to try their amazing wine. You can also go for a picnic in the grounds but ensure you book in advance. Great place.

Two years ago, when visiting SA we had an outstanding picnic at the Boschendal Winery. When revisiting this year a repeat picnic was a priority. Unfortunately whilst the food provided in the picnic was acceptable, it was no longer exceptional. It seemed that the menu has been revised and the changes in presentation seemed to reflect cost cutting. The surroundings... More

Stopped for lunch in the deli- had heard great things about the picnic ( our tour operator had tried to book a picnic for us but could not confirm they could cater for allergies). Service prompt and great food- especially as they were still setting elements of the deli up as it has newly opened.

We have been visiting South Africa, once or twice a year, for eight years. During that time we have visited several different styles of vineyards. Whilst we find the wines at Boschendal to be of a very high standard we have found that the vineyard itself, like so many others, has become very commercial. Well worth a one time visit... More

Boschendal is stunning! Gardens are well kept and the service was excellent. The waiting staff are helpful and friendly. Adrienne, Robin and Blessing went out of their way to look after us when we played pétanque there for the weekend at the beginning of November! Enjoyed the breakfast in the new deli!

As part of an optional tour with our South African Highlights and Safari tour, we decided to try the Boschendal winery tour. Not being much of a wine connoisseur, we decided to give it a try. The winery manor is an impressive building supposedly exhibiting Cape architecture. The wine tasting consisted of five different wines. The red wines were fairly... More
