This is a great little winery, perfect if you don't want to go to a commercial, faceless winery. The wine's great too and the staff very friendly and helpful.

this one is simple. Visit this out of town estate to taste Franschhoek's most loved Shiraz, you would struggle to find a competitor and if the sales figures dont prove it i dunno what it. i bought mine by the case from the Local wine store "la cotte" they too are lovely.
Shiraz, simply for that!

Having spent the past 3 months exploring the vineyards of Western Cape, Stony Brook stands out as a little gem amongst the giant commercial wineries that dominate the region. On every one of our visits over the past 8 years we have always enjoyed a warm homely welcome. The personal touch of Joy and Christna is what makes this place...

This small(ish) vineyard is worth the trip out of Franshhoek to sample their range of wines in the shade of a large gum tree. Very friendly.

We love Stony Brook as the wine tasting is provided by Joy who is one of the owners. We got an understanding of each of the wines and how they came up with it, including the name.
The wines are also great and it was nice not going to a winery where you get treated as one of the herd....

You will not be disappointed with a visit to Stony Brook Winefarm, you could say its like having a drink with old friends you will be warmly welcomed by Christna and your journey begins first with the fruity whites then on to the award winning reds.
During your visit you may have chance to chat with Joy or Nigel McNaught...

The tasting area on the terrace is very pleasant without being special. What has made it special in the past has been the personal touch by Joy, the winemaker and owner's wife. When we visited this time, she wasn't there, and the rather garrulous young lady was definitely not in the same league. The wines have changed in character over...
