Drive from Villiersdorp to Franchhoek over the pass. Its absolutely the best! The views are stunning and you are rewarded with a visit to Franchhoek and all that it has to offer. I have done the pass may times on a motorcycle which, in my opinion, is the best way to go.

Great views breath taking. Not for those afraid of heights or twisty windy roads 😄. The scenery is amazing looking down and back then as you climb you get a real sense of the force of nature. There were so many cyclists the day we went up. Must be barking

This is a great alternative route to travel from Cape Town to Caledon or the garden route if you wanting to make a day of it and stop for lunch. The route over the pass offers stunning views and rugged mountain landscapes before driving past the Tiewaterskloof dam and meeting up with the N2 again

Like the views over Franschhoek valley at sunset and driving up and down the winding road to and from the town

This is a lovely drive amongst stunning scenery. We've driven it a few times and always enjoy it. Never seen it that busy so easy to pull over and enjoy the views and take some photos.

Nice drive, with really pretty views over the Franschoek areas. Plus it is really close to a couple of awesome wine farms - Haute Cabriere and La Petit Ferme, to name two!

Drove up to watch the sunset from the boot of car... Africa has the best sunsets and this is one of the best views.

The very well surfaced winding road climbs out of Franschhoek and offers views back over the town and the wine-lands. Lovely views also of the surrounding mountains as the road winds through them and down to the much less interesting plain which lies beyond. Drawbacks? Yes......to fully appreciate this drivers' road you need an open top sports car. An MX5... More

This was a great drive over the pass on our way to Hermanus. On the way there are a lot of winerys to go and have tastings. We were a bit disappointed with Hermanus we thought it was just another sea resort. It was the wrong time of year to see the whales.

..a stunning drive into the mountains..it's also another way to get to the South Cape Town region..you wind your way up the pass via a series of swichbacks..there are a couple of viewing points, please use these as taking your eye off the road would not be sensible..
