This remarkable wine farm that offers much more than just wine. It is an experience! A museum welcomes one with empowered staff manning the post. A glass floor reveals historic excavations and artefacts and information boards guide one further. The wine farm is progressive and historic and different. With a visionary neuro-scientist at the helm, one cannot expect less. Strangulation... More

I totally recommend this wine tour, especially if you want to know the process of making wine instead of only tasting a myriad of different bottles of wine. Our tour guide was pleasant and very knowledgeable and could answer any question. We loved walking in the vineyards. Very worthwhile experience.

Went back to share the history with some friends but was very sad to hear the interesting platters was no longer part of the wine tasting options. Sorry to say that the whole feeling was gone as previously the grass and moat tables were filled with happy people tasting wine and enjoying the garden. Now you gave to go to... More

We always take friends who are first time visitors to Solms Delta - a small and very informative museum, very enthusiastic guides and an ambitious social program for farm workers and their families. On top of all, the wines are good and exciting, variations outside the beaten track for those who want to explore new wines. Also, the rustic little... More

Solms-Delta is a unique vineyard with historical findings dating to the era of the San inhabitants. A museum at the vineyard shows valuable ancient findings of items used by the French Hugenots. Most admirable was the appreciation & emphasis also placed on the artifacts & not only on producing wine. Numerous wine cellars were available for viewing. The owner ,Mr.Solms, must... More

We were taken by Mercia's relating the story of the farm's history and present, especially about its service to locals. She is truly a one-woman show ready for the big time. We often listen to the CD by Alex Scott, a talented musician who taught music to local children before his untimely death. This is a special place, enhanced by... More

We had wine, lunch and entertainment. The Cape Jazz was one of their signature wines and it was delightful. We were guests for lunch and the signature wines excellence. It was a winters day and we were able to sit outside comfortably and out guide surprisingly was a singer. It has an awesome view of the mountains, it is definitely... More

Our group went to Solms Delta as a part of a wine tasting. While there, we were able to taste five different wines along with having lunch. Fortunately, the weather was perfect, so we were able to sit out on the patio and have lunch. One of the best things about the lunch was the view as you are able... More

Spent a lovely afternoon at Solms-Delta in Franschhoek..It was a beautiful winter's day so we sat outside in the sun and enjoyed the wine tasting which was R20 for 6 wines. They have some very interesting wines like The Cape Jazz which is a sparkling red enjoyed chilled, and the Perry which is a fermented pear cider. The staff are... More
