a perfect example of how one experience can be intertwined with another..solms delta is a flag ship of how to enrich workers lives and work toward a common goal. There is a museum to the slaves who lived and worked on the farm, an exhibition of early musical instruments and a day care centre for pre schoolers from 4months The... More

We did the museum and farm tour, which was fascinating, and then some wine tasting (and buying, of course, they are yummy!), followed by the picnic next to the river. A really lovely day out in the beautiful Franschoek Valley and highly recommended.

This was our second winery visit after Boschendal and was much better. We thought the wines were of higher quality and the place was really nice but less commercial than Boschendal. However, the best thing was the knowledge of the youngish chap conducting the tasting. He was the best we experienced anywhere, including stellenbosch.

We received a contribution from our children to go on a wine tasting and picnic outing at this venue. We were treated like royalty and had a most enjoyable wine tasting experience, followed by a very romantic laid back picnic by the river under some trees. Nice surroundings, no industrial or city noises, only the little brook that is left... More

The area in front of the main building is very social and great to spend a few hours with friends. They offer a comprehensive tasting and some platters with various foods. While we were there they also entertained us with their choir. Overall a very pleasant afternoon.

the environment is one of the highlights. You will enjoy the museum and the tastingroom, but the wines are generally flat and can not compare with others. But tastes are different and I am sure one will enjoy the atmosphere

This was the second stop on our private wine tour, so no idea what it cost to go in. It's a pleasant place and the staff were lovely. We particularly enjoyed the archaeological/historical museum (free), which was done to professional standard with enough exhibits for interest and not so many as to jade. The wine tasting was done properly by... More

This review is for the picnics that the venue offers. My husband surprised me by booking a picnic lunch for us last Sunday. The weather was perfect, very little wind. What I can say is this, the venue is really stunning. We decided to stop off next to the lake area instead of the normal picnic area and it was like... More

A group of us visited Solms-Delta on Tuesday (30 Dec) and what a pleasant surprise. After hearing about it so often we decided that it would be our first stop on the way to Franschhoek. The wine is really good, with the most interesting label designs. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable and I do believe that because of them... More
