Lynx Wines - one of the smallest wine estates in Franschhoek, producing expressive wines that reflect the passion of the winemaker and his small, dedicated team. We pride ourselves in our friendly, personal and informative cellar tours – not to mention our numerous award winning wines. Wine tastings in German and Spanish by appointment.

the rose is amazing and the vineyard is worth a visit

My husband and I visited Lynx today while in Franschhoek. We are doing the red line tram tomorrow and Lynx is not on it but it is well worth a separate trip. We met the owner, saw the cellar and learned all about wine making and how different grapes are used. Much more interesting and informative than other tastings. Tasting... More

Lynx was suggested as part of our wine tour, with the Constantia Wine Tour, as its surely was a great tip! whilst slightly off the main road, it is well worth the extra effort! Dieter, the owner and wine maker was there, he took us through his delicious wines, and then showed us around the cellar. The Viognier and Shiraz... More

We visited Lynx after enjoying a bottle of their Blanc de Noir 2014 at a restaurant in Franschhoek. We enjoyed a tasting and were then shown the fermentation process, production, barrels and wines ready and waiting to be delivered. All accompanied by a clear comprehensive explanation. These are people who not only know their wines, but truly love what they're... More

Had a wonderful visit to this smaller wine estate. Tasted some excellent wines that are relatively inexpensive. Dieter, the owner and winemaker, took us through 5 or 6 wines giving amazing context on production methods, the history of producing that wine, and had some interesting stories on how they came up with various wine names. He also gave us a... More

My boyfriend and I stopped into Lynx one evening after reading about it on TripAdvisor. The owner was expecting a large group but still took the time to do our tasting, chat with us, and show us the cellar without making us feel rushed in any way. It was the first winery we have ever been to where we loved... More

Dieter, the cellar master, is a font of wine making knowledge. He does full wine making tours, showing you the grape tubs, fermentation process and barrels. His wines are delicious and creative. He can do tours in English, German and Spanish. The winery is a few km outside of Franschhoek but well worth the detour.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Lynx Wines, having discovered it on trip advisor. My husband loved all the wines and Dieter even found a wine I liked (I generally don't drink wine). It was so interesting to meet the owner and he spent time explaining the history of the business and also the wine making process.... More

Lynx is not a wine farm that mass-produces wines in high volumes, instead each wine is made with care and you can taste that quality in each of the wines. Upon arrival we were greeted by the owner Dieter Sellmeyer and taken on our own private tour. (This was the only wine estate that we visited where we were able... More

Lynx wine is an absolute must if you are in Franschhoek. The owner of the winery gives you a personal tasting and tour. He makes great wines! Even has a custom made wine.(Xanache- named after his daughters....once we heard this and after tasting we knew we had to buy this!) Please, even though it is not on the main road,... More
