Schotia offers one of the best chances to see lions in the wild. This private malaria free reserve close to the Addo Elephant National Park is probably the most densely stocked reserve in Africa, and with over 40 mammal species and approximately 2000 animals, can offer consistently good game viewing throughout the year.

If you've never been on a game drive, this is the experience for you. If you have, you'll find this interesting but orchestrated to an almost cynical degree. We were told there are sometimes 100 people being driven around this reserve, and as the guides tell each other exactly where to find the 8 elephants and 3 lions, it's easy... More

This is an afternoon/evening game drive which started off slightly slow - although a couple of people had suggested it was more like a zoo as not all the animals are indigenous, it certainly was not! Off we went looking for the various animals which we did find. Our guide, Igna, was lovely - even though she is out every... More

We had a wonderful tour guide (Malcolm) who was very experienced and intuitive as to where the Big Five animals were located on this private game reserve. We were within 15 feet to 20 feet of the lions, rhinos, hippos, zebras, antelopes, alligators, warthogs, etc. This was a very educational and enjoyable experience. Even though the day was long, it... Our knowledgable guide, Carl, ensured our group of 10 had a superb experience. The open vehicle provided an excellent viewing platform and the ability to veer off the tracks to where the animals were was thrilling for those of our party who had never experienced African animals up close before. Carl went out his way to ensure we saw as... More

We went on an afternoon/evening game drive and while we saw a number of animals it is not really a safari as the staff all know where the animals are likely to be and it is more like just driving to where they are to see them. I personally prefer to go into a real game park where what you... More

Our group of 6 spent a fantastic afternoon / evening at Schotia. We saw more wildlife than I had expected and thought the entire experience was great. In the morning we saw loads elephants on a self drive through Addo, but I am so glad we added the Schotia Tooth and Claw Safari to our itinerary. We were able to... More

This game drive was exceptional. We saw all the Big Five and more right next to our jeep. Donovan was a enthusiastic guide. Even the coffee break and the Braai were great. We finished with a short Night Game Drive where we also met the hippos. 6 hours ful of delight.

We did a delightful tour, great guide, Donavan, informative and did a wonderful job. The animals were fab, got great photos, enjoyed a simple dinner and fire at the end of the day with our guide, then back in after dark for a completely different look at the park. Excellent

This safari in a relative small park offers you an incredible experience. You have to go with their open vehicles which are driving really off-road and will come as close as possible with all the animals on their way. Yes, even the Rhinos and Lions! The dinner in a natural surrounding with drinks at an open fire is an outstanding... More
