Schotia offers one of the best chances to see lions in the wild. This private malaria free reserve close to the Addo Elephant National Park is probably the most densely stocked reserve in Africa, and with over 40 mammal species and approximately 2000 animals, can offer consistently good game viewing throughout the year.

I experienced Schotia recently with Blunden Coach Tours and the environment was brilliant. We saw 4 of the Big 5 and what a sight it was even though the elephant we saw was on the ADDO Elephant Park side of the fence. Guides a very proffesional and knowledgeable. Definitely recommend it to everybody, better alternative than ADDO.

We loved this trip as it gave us the opportunity to travel by open sided landcover with a guide. We had a huge elephant walk right past us. Also a pride of lions, giraffe and deer. It was all round off with a lovely meal in a beautiful hut with fire pits. Would recommend.

We had an amazing guide, Karl - he was patient and entertaining and we managed to see everything we wanted to see except for the elusive hippos.

You get a very cool little tour, get up close and personal with animals you'd have a very hard time seeings. Would definitely go back.

We combined this Safari with the ADDO , We was driven around in a small jeep, during the day in very large area. The park is divided in two parts. One with Lions and one without. Our driver was able to find all the important animals. Then it was dinner in the bush. It was a protected area but in... More

This is very much a business with prices to match. The evening meal is adequate but the drinks are limited. The guides will try to find all the animals especially the lions. When we were there the male lion was walking by the fence separating the reserve from Addo Elephant park and the two male lions in the park were... More

We arrived for our safari and after some drinks and biscuits we were on our way. The first major sighting was a group of impala, then a mum and baby giraffe (about 5 weeks old). Then some red hartebeest followed by rhino. A car ahead of us accidentally disturbed the male and female rhino as they were resting and we... More

It is always a pleasure to visit Schotia Safaris. From the moment you arrive you are welcomed with open arms. The staff and the guides go out of their way to accommodate you and there is always fun to be had on the vehicles. The guides ensure that you see the best of the animals. The highlight of the day... We went to this safari. If you are in Africa you should do a safari after all. We went there at 15:00. Our ranger (Kurt) was well prepeared to answer all questions coming up. It was a long ride with the car and we have seen....Giraffes/hippos/Rhinoes/Warthogs/Elephants......and the highlight was when a lion was eating a warthog (poor pumba). All this... More

Very good experience - very profesional and the rangers that guides the safari are very experienced and entusiastic. We enjoyed the safari very much and the dinner after is cosy with a fire in the middle.
