We live about twenty minutes from the city and we usually take the ferry into the city. If you're from Jersey it's a nice drive into Weehawken and the facility has some little places to eat and places to sit while you wait. The ferries run in 20 minute intervals until I believe around 1:00 in the morning (at least... More

Be aware of the boat you board - if you get on one of the boats that has a full canopy, you will have much difficulty seeing the fireworks. One of the boats is the “Empire State” (not sure if it’s still in service). Compounding the situation is all the people on the boat will be crowding into every available... More

Very dependable especially now with the new parking garage. I sorta liked the old ferry station better next to the now closed arthurs landing restaurant. BUT the new station is modern and efficient. Better than the GWB hassle and NYC parking. AND the buses that are free are a bargain. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

The return port to the hotel was complicated. Information screens were not working properly. You have to ask each ferry is yours or not.

The buses run regularly from NJ Transit to the jitney buses, and while they are both convenient, they can be smelly, packed, and during traffic, slow. Especially on really bad days, buses can breakdown, accidents happen, and if it happens in one of the Lincoln Tunnel tubes, it kills your commute or your trip into the city. The NY Waterway... More
