Relaxing, Great Views!

Beautiful park with lots of trails. Take the black trail to the bay, nice little beach at the end with great views! Only about a mile each way so it's a very easy, relaxing walk.

We went on a small boat with about 15 other people. A park ranger accompanied us and pointed out various birds and other interesting facts about the Toms River Estuary.

My entire family loves Cattus Island Park! So much to do and see! Beautiful Butterfly garden, lots of trails to explore and many educational programs to take advantage of!

We arrived when the sun was just beginning to go down and this was on a cold November day. I was amazed at the numbers of cardinals and various other woodland creatures. I visited the park mainly for shooting photos and I was very happy with the outcome!

I take family and friends over there by boat. It's quiet, peaceful while taking in the different birds. The beach is small , but this is quite a large park. You can also drop anchor in the lagoon or sail around the other side and do the same. My dislike is when the breeze is coming off the land and... More

I hike through Cattus Island on a fairly regular basis and I always enjoy it. If you take all the trails there are at aleast 8 miles to hike. This is on the marsh with beautiful scenery and a lot of wild life including deer, Osprey, owls and turtles just to name a few. There is also a wild life... More

You get a nice view of the bay and the amusements at Seaside Heights. Great view of the birds & wildlife. If you visit when it is hot out, bring bug spray.

I like the diversity of the habitats to walk in. There is beach, woods and salt marshes. The nature center has been closed since Sandy, but there is still a platform that over looks the salt marshes. It's a great place for birding.

If exercise is in your regular cards, you must wear yourself out in walking the never ending trails at Cattus Island County Park. They've worked out special little surprises that will help your visit be particularly fun and challenge your creativity. We were pleased to see that the park has survived Sandy, aside from some remnants of natures trimmings resulting... More
