It is easy to admire and enjoy the beauty of the beach during the summer but we were quite delighted with the natural beauty of the seven mile beach in December ! What a dreamy romantic place for a walk.

The beach at Stone harbor is unlike most stuff North of it. First of all, unlike Atlantic City, Ocean City, and Wildwood, there is no boardwalk, meaning if you're someone who gets annoyed with constant pizza places and T-shirt shops, this is your place. And because of this, Stone Harbor beach is much more quiet and less busy. Not to... More

We visit Stone Harbor on a regular basis from the UK. This year the beach was better than ever. It is heaven to be able to walk or lounge on the excellent beach. The delightful town is close by and vendors are welcoming. Thank you Stone Harbor for another great holiday.

We decided to stay at a newly opened hotel in Stone Harbor for three days. We arrived September 16th. Only to find that though many of the shops were open the restaurants were not. I had carefully checked web sites before leaving home only to find that almost all except bars and pizza places were closed, a big disappointment. Walking... More

Stone Harbor is a great shore town. The beach is beautiful and clean. The sand is soft and there is always ample places to set up your blankets, chairs and umbrellas. We always seem to pick an awesome weather week. It was so hot this summer but there are stands to buy cold drinks at 95/96th street and vendors with... More

Avalon, Stone Harbor is the best walking beach. The sand is soft and powdery. The beach is one of the most well kept I have been to; always a machine on the beach in the morning sifting out the junk. We walked 5 miles one day and 4 in the other direction the next. Beautiful.

We loved this beach. It had a great low key vibe. The only issue here is a lack of bathrooms and no changing areas. There is a group of lacking portapottys on 122 street and then a very small bathroom on 95 th street. It took us a few days to figure this out.

White sand. Sun. Water. Waves. Laughter. Ice Cream. In the words of Zac Brown "... only worry in the world, is the tide gonna reach my chair."

When you arrive in Stone Harbor, don't follow your GPS to the beach, take the first right, you won't regret. Parking is free, sand is beautiful like in Ogunquit, a nice scenery all around... When you enter the beach, you have a sign stating that you have to buy a beach tag, but we've been there twice, and there has... More
