A nice long walk on the beach here is good for the soul, make sure you go on a sunny day without much wind or it will become a real challenge. You can smell the familiar salt water smell and see the gulls gliding on the wind but you can also take advantage of the peace and solitude you have... More

Long Beach Island- Ship Bottom is a great place to vacation. Bagel Eddie has great breakfast items and there is always a line going out the front door. The island in whole has a lot of entertainment to offer for all ages. If you go, you won't be disappointed.

This beach is unreal ! Beautiful sand, a lot of people but not too crowdy since the beach is so big. However, we could not find a washroom or shower on the beach which is sad for this quality of beach. The ask us to pay to get entrance to the beach but half the service. I guess they have... More

Love the beach in Ship Bottom, LBI. It is a large beach that is clean and people don't have to sit on top of each other.

The beach was only a block away and it was very clean and not overly crowded. They have plenty of lifeguards on duty.

I used to spend every summer at Ship Bottom Beach and then moved too far to return but now that I am back in NJ I went to visit again with my family and oh boy what a nice family beach with lovely people and mostly locals. This beach has a good access and public restrooms which is great specially... More

I've been going to the Ship Bottom beach at 4th Street for over 30 years.....it's a great family beach and we see the same faces every year. The beach has changed over the years.....seems to be bigger this year. Never super crowded except on holidays.

Ship Bottom has public restrooms, good beach access for handicapped individuals. Excellent lifeguards [10-5 daily from end of June through end of September]. Excellent bay beach. Unlike Surf City you can actually have fun on the beach. Nice sandbars, surfing beaches. Beach badges required during season during guarded hours.

Ship Bottom and the rest of Long Beach Island (LBI) have the best beaches in New Jersey. LBI is a great summer resort for any family with much to do. I have seen all the major beaches on the east and west coast, visited many caribbean islands and believe me you won't find nicer beaches and better restaurants than exist... More

LBI is a relative quiet summer spot. The beaches are well kept. I go every summer along with 12 friends and spend the weekend. Usually a few of us go to the beach in the late afternoon. I am a beach person, I love to swim in the ocean. We all go and have wine and cheese to toast the... More
