Herefore inlet is a beautiful area, the seawall is a nice walk for the family. I like to sit on the beach there at night, the view across the the inlet to all the other shore towns lined is so pretty.

After a short video of the history of the lighthouse, you can walk up the steps almost to the top. It's a working lighthouse. So, you can't go all the way up. You do, however, get a great view of the inlet & beach! Because it is on the inlet, it is not as large as other lighthouses, so the... More

The Hereford Inlet Lighthouse is one of the undiscovered oases of calm in the Wildwoods, and I make a point of visiting at least a couple of times a year -- especially for the garden, which is extraordinary. It uses a small amount of space to achieve a maximum but very low-key spectacle, using only indigenous plants and carefully staged... More

Even if you don't want to give yourself the self guided tour after the eight min video, walking the magnificent grounds is a must- the groundskeepers do an amazing job keeping the gardens in beautiful condition. We like to check it out every few weeks to see the ever changing landscape.

My son is 26 yrs. old. As a child, we visited the Hereford Lighthouse more times than I can recount. It was his special place. He loved roaming and hearing the stories. The gardens are beautiful and well kept, with a special herb garden as well. The seawall runs past the lighthouse for walking access. They have a lovely gazebo... More

I am twelve years old. When I went here, I noticed that it was very small, but I later found out that that is what made it. When you first walk in they show you a short video about the history of the lighthouse and then you are free to climb the lighthouse. As you climb the lighthouse, you see... More
