This park has a history of its own. The park spans from Newark to Belleville. Must see in the spring when the Cherry Blossoms are in Bloom. There are bocci courts, tennis courts, streams, skating and this park is accessible by Light Rail.

An urban oasis bordering on sections of Newark that never completely collapsed. (Of course, be smart and you'll probably be safe - but that's true anywhere.) Each spring (time varies according to Mother Nature's schedule) hundreds of cherry blossom trees bloom and the park becomes a pink and white wonderland of blossoms. Driving and parking can be tough but well... More

Famous for the Cherry Blossom festivals. A beautiful scenic park which extend into two cities I believe. Great for jogging, strolling and taking pictures. Many wedding pictures have been taken there throughout the years. A must visit when in Newark.

Maybe during spring is a lot better. However, do not come the ought Clifton or 7th ave at night because that's the bad area of Newark. The plus was the option of rollers skating rink. There are some paths but is mostly drivable I didn't see any food trucks and parking is mostly along the lake where they do have... More

Not 100% sure it was May but it was Cherry Blossom time & the park was quite beautiful. We parked the car & walked for about 2 hours visiting most sections of the park where we viewed older gentlemen playing Boci, cards & dominoes and people picnicking & exercising throughout the park.

What a park, beautiful, serene, lots to do, and plenty of space so you don't feel cramped. The place to hang out in the spring and summer time, enjoy all the festivals and trails.

Did you know that Branch Brook Park has MORE Cherry Blossom Trees than Washington, DC? The yearly festival is a week long event, a great place to visit and enjoy the vision that Frederick Law Olmsted (designer of Central Park) had in 1895 for Newark.

A smaller Northern New Jersey counterpart to Central Park, sharing the same designer, Branch Brook Park offers a quiet, beautiful, scenic drive through Newark and Belleville.

Park was really good to walk around or bike along the constructed pathways. Parking generally not an issue if you drive around a bit. Great for exercise, playing sports or just chilling.
