It's a big beautiful park, with 3 sections that span 2 cities. Parts are in somewhat bad neighborhoods, so I wouldn't advise going after dark.

Who would have thought that such a beautiful park with cherry blossoms and linear paths and many many athletic fields just two rapid transit trips out of the city? PATH to Newark to the Newark City Subway, and you're basically in DC.a

The Cherry Blossom Festival in the early spring is a must do if you live anywhere in the tri state area. This expansive , well kept park is the pride of Newark, and rightfully so. The parks Dept does a fabulous job of maintaining those thousands of cherry blossom trees , I believe the Emperor of japan gave the best... More

This is a beautiful park at any time but especially during the height of the cherry blossoms. It is an amateur photographer's dream! You could spend hours just looking at the trees and taking photos. There are plenty of walking paths for the nonphotographer.

The only and only plus point of this park is it has 1000+ cherry trees. 1. This park is big enough to walk, so if thats concerned you. Park the car at near fountain. Most of the cherry trees are near by. 2. Since location is off, try to come by car and avoid public transportation. 3. This park won't... More

Branch Brook Park has more Cherry Trees than at the Jefferson Memorial in Washington DC. Many trails to walk, one by an aqua duct that runs along the main road. The park covers an area of about 300 acres. They have a bus that takes you through the whole park. I skipped the bus and just walked for about an... More

This relatively large and somewhat quaint picturesque park transforms annually into a spectacular gem of blooming Japanese cherry trees (sakura trees). This is quite a spectacle... I have not seen that many sakuras in one park anywhere else in the USA. Previously there would be no way online to check whether cherries are in bloom, but now there is a... More

I give it a 4/5 because it needs more vigilance in certain isolated areas. The rest is good. A lot of options for sports and relaxation. Great acces to public transportation.
