Okay For A Walk. As Beaches Go, Not Much Else

The beach is newly renovated from being devastated from Hurricane Sandy, it's free and it's huge! There are free concerts down by the LaPlaya Mexican restaurant every Thursday at 7pm, until September 10th. The borough has a new website and Facebook with more details. Also, the borough is looking for vendors to rent kayaks and such next summer. It's up... More

We went there to celebrate my son 9th birthday and was highly disappointed. The beach was dirty with trash and broken seashells, the water was brown and murky looking with dead sea animals ,the kids were freaking out. It was so windy we couldn't keep the umbrella up. Meter parking is $2.00 coins only for one hour that's a ripoff. You... More

The beach offers a unique view of New York City far in the distance, especially on a clear day. The beach itself has been covered in debris each time I have visited. Much of the debris I see is natural - such as seaweed, wood/sticks, washed up fish, crab shells, etc., but it is still unpleasant. I do not see... More

Water and beach was pretty dirty. A lot of trash lying around and drunk people partying all over. Around 10 people were fishing from the beach in the middle of all the swimmers. It's free and no lifeguards.

The water at this beach is horrible! There are dead crabs, broken beer bottles, and garbage along the beach. The only good thing I like about this beach is that you can actually swim because you don't have to worry about large waves knocking and dragging you out as this water is not part of the ocean. There are no... More

Dirty beach and i found it hard to relax with all the seaweed and dead crabs and horse shoe crabs attacked my feet. There were cigarettes and beer bottles all over the place. First and LAST time i will ever go there. Better off driving the extra 1/2 hour to go to sandy hook.

Great things have been done to this beach since Sandy crippled them. We had a great time at the beach waiting for the fire works on the 4th of July. Hidden and quiet, great for the kids.

Nestled on the shore of Raritan Bay is a public Beach (Keansburg, NJ) that cannot be matched. The beach itself is pristine, maintained by the historic town and many volunteer organizations. With the restored wooden boardwalk (footpath) along the entire beachfront, The adjacent amusement park, Water Park, and plethora of eateries and watering holes make it a perfect place to... More

Nostalgic and great for family! Right on the beach, water park is great too. You get a lot for your money. Glad they came back after Sandy.

Nice beach. Not a lot of people because you are swimming in the bay and the water is dirty. Expect to wash twice whatever you wear in the water. Lots of shells to pick up on the beach.
