My husband isn't a museum lover, but the day trip from Long Island was my choice. Well we both loved this place. Everywhere we looked there was interesting things to see, and surprises in many spots too. We would see what we thought was a person, and on closer examination discovered a sculpture. Highly recommended

We unexpectedly had an empty nest weekend and had been wanting to visit Grounds for Sculpture for years. It was a spectacular day and we drove the short distance from Philadelphia. I was expecting rolling greens with spectacular sculpture, and what we found were more works by Seward Johnson, who founded the site, than other artists. Johnson's works are unusual;... More

This was my first visit and I was very impressed. There are sculptures everywhere! And the grounds are lovely with alot of places to sit and just enjoy. None of the buildings were open on the day I visited and I don't know what is usually there but I will go back in warmer weather and check it out. i... More

It was a day to spend outside after a long winter. The grounds are beautiful but not worth 15 dollars per person.

An interesting mix of art. Something for everyone. Some modern art, but my favourite pieces are the life size people and the reconstructions of famous paintings. THe 65 foot Marilyn Monroe is wonderful you are encouraged to touch and get close to nearly all the exhibits

we purchased membership to GFS the same day! The main impression that we experienced was how well the over 200 sculptures are displayed on the beautifully landscaped natural environs. GFS states that it limits the # of visitors to about 2500 daily, and if they do, that's probably why our visit was so relaxed and low-key. The grounds are very... More

Having visited Grounds for Sculpture during the past 20 years, I am endlessly fascinated, educated, enthralled, amused, and relaxed. Yes, this is an experience that brings all sorts of feelings, even a meditative sense of timelessness while wondering around the complex. There are permanent sculptures, and ever changing art work displayed outside and in. Don't miss this place; it is... More

Would have given it 5 stars if there weren't so many of Johnson's crap around. Entirely too much. A few of his pieces would be enjoyable, as when they first opened. It's so sad what his narcissism has done. Really really disappointed over what has become of the place. There are really wonderful pieces of work there that are overshadowed... More

This place is way off the beaten path; but oh, is it worth the side trip. It's about 40 minutes outside Philadelphia, but not only are the sculptures fun and whimsical, they are arranged on the grounds in such an amazing way that it is impossible for your mind to not be transported to another dimension. Make sure you look... More
