I was visiting my grandmother and wanted to show my family around and we stumbled on this place. Absolutely amazing sculptures. Some sculptures are huge like the size of a building, there is a huge Marilyn Monroe statue here. some sculptures are set up to look like scenes, like fishing, sleeping, dinning. Don't forget your walking shoes because you can... More

Amidst well manicured lawns and knolls and dozens of interpretive sculptures of steel, aluminum and stone that will take a few hours to take it all in. There are also many life-size 1900's sculptures by Seward Johnson of of the J&J lineage that take an hour or more to appreciate by it self. If you time it right you can... More

Walking through the Grounds for Sculpture is like walking through a fairy tale. Lovely grounds, interesting sculpture and poetry outside. It was a lively day we didn't go inside. That's for our next vist. Great choices for lunch...

At my cousin's wedding here last summer there were two problems: first it rained at this outdoor wedding, and second, the women's high heeled shoes sank into the wet grassy ground during those portions of the ceremony which required standing. Keep these things in mind when you see this place on a beautiful, sunny day and have the bright idea... More

The place is easy to locate, you'll not gonna missed the huge sculptures on the way to it. Make sure you wear comfortable footwear. Great activity for everyone. A must see when you're in the Princeton area.

I didn't realize that Seward Johnson had founded Grounds for Sculpture. I'm a fan of his work so it was a pleasant surprise. There's alot of his work though...perhaps too much? There's always something to see areound every corner. Be sure to walk the whole meadow. I didn't and missed a few great pieces. The map is horrible. It should... More

We finally had the opportunity to explore the amazing Grounds for Sculpture located in central NJ. Luckily, we arrived shortly after the sculpture garden opened which gave us time to beat the heat and avoid the the crowds which swell there on weekends. We also were able to find a parking space by arriving early - something which is very... More

Membership usually has its privileges, but not at the GFS. Not enough staff, long lines to get in, did not honor membership perk of special parking. Go during the week if your schedule permits as weekends are way too busy. Plan to cancel my membership.

This place is fantastic. The grounds themselves are a work of art - magical jungles of bamboo, wisteria trellis that go on for miles, lanes of river birch, formal, informal, constructed, deconstructed, water gardens and lakes, it just goes on. And these amazing gardens are only the backdrop for an incredible collection of sculpture. We wandered for hours, completely captivated.... More
