Awesome zoo

We adopted our dog here. Peacocks roam freely on the grounds. Didn't visit the zoo part, just the dog kennel -- where Darwin convinced us to take him home with us.

We have been going there for a few years yet each time is amazing. You learn where these animals came from and how horrible their past was. They are all so beautiful. And to watch the black bears gently take the popcorn is heartwarming. But the lesson it hopefully teaches people is that certain animals should not be kept as... More

I have been at a bunch of road side zoo's, and I was expecting something similar. Boy was i shocked when we went in there. My kids loved feeding peanuts to the bears. But the highlight was the big cats. The lions were roaring, the tigers were swimming and pacing. I have never seen them so active. We had a... More

I have been coming to Popcorn Park Zoo for years, ever since I was a kid. I just went again Wednesday with my boyfriend, and we always have a nice time. I love animals, and love reading the personal stories about each animal. It is so sad knowing that a lot of these magnificent animals had a very rough start... More

It's always a fun time at Popcorn Zoo but I'd have a hard time stretching it into a full day adventure. It's more of a half day trip. The workers are nice and well informed and the animals are well cared for.

I used to spend a few weeks every summer when I was a kid staying with my grandparents in nearby Whiting. Among the many things we'd do is go to the Popcorn Zoo. As an adult, I continue to patronize the Popcorn Zoo and take my daughter a couple of times a year. We went this morning. Is it the... More

Perfect for a day with the grandchildren. They loved the animals. The size of the zoo makes it perfect for young children: Plenty of animals for young ones.

We enjoyed visiting all of the rescued animals and hand feeding popcorn to many of them! This is a small zoo but they have quite a variety of animals. We visited everything from turtles to farm animals to exotic animals and big cats! The kids especially enjoyed hand feeding the deer and sheep. The only negative is that the parking... More

A wonderful way to spend the afternoon and learn the importance of caring for all God's creatures. Popcorn Park Zoo is able to continue through contributions. A great place for all ages, families, etc.
