I didn't expect much before I went. I figured maybe I'd see some wolves, foxes, and bobcats in a distance... man was I wrong! I've traveled and experienced many things, but this was by far one of the best experiences I've ever had! Not only do the animals come up close, you're educated on EVERYTHING about them and how they're... More

Long hike up (which was nice for us) but there is often a shuttle available. Good & interesting presentation on the wolves, foxes & bobcats, but no un-obstructed view. The main point to see the wolves can get a bit crowded, but you are guaranteed an up close look at the beautiful wolves!

The word "Lakota" translates into a few words: allied, feeling affection, friendly and united. Those are perfect words to describe the 'air' around the wolf packs when I was recently on a photography tour at the preserve. The ease and communication while making the reservation, was very appreciated since the weather wasn't cooperating. We worked out the schedule and the... More

I've been here a few times, and definitely plan to go back again when it warms up! if you love wildlife and wildlife photography, you can't beat it. You'll learn so much about these fantastic creatures, get some fresh air, and have a unique experience you won't find anywhere else for many miles. The tour guides, who run the place,... More

I've already been here 3 times because I love this place so much. The wolves, foxes, and bobcats are beautiful, I can go for the rest of my life. As a sponsor of 3 wolves and a fox, Keysha, Kayla, Orion, and Sierra, you can tell I love this place. It's a great place for families but I'm not sure... More

Becky and Jim the "parents" at Lakota dedicated their live's to this place. There are 4 large may acre pens for the packs to live like wolves with family. They are all pure wolves born in captivity and they raise them as pups and give them a life of safety from humans. They also have bobcats and foxes some are... More

We recently visited the preserve with our two children, ages 9 and 7. We had a very large group tour -- close to 40 or 50 -- and I found it challenging to catch everything Jim said about the wolves. He's a wikipedia on wolves, which is great, but he talks too fast and his voice failed to carry to... More

This is a very unique experience. The perserve is owned and operated by Jim and Becky who passion for these beautiful creatures is evident. Thier presentation into the lives and habits fo the wolves is extremely interesting. You gain a new appreciation for these wild and beautiful animals. As the other reviewers have said, when they get them to howl... More

We all had a fantastic time at Lakota Wolf Preserve during our trip there in January 2015. The two tour guides (who were also the owners/operators of the preserve) were extremely friendly and full of knowledge about the wolves, bobcats, and foxes on the preserve. The tour through the preserve was well worth the $15 (it was almost an 1... More
