This is an amazing place to visit in NJ. The place is awesome and the wolves and bobcats are so interesting to see up close. I would highly recommend this for a family stop, a date, or a school trip.

My family (parents plus 13- and 11-year-old kids) really enjoyed our visit to the preserve. We were able to see the animals up close and learned a LOT from the very interesting and informative hosts. I had not quite understood the set-up--I had thought there were trails to hike along and you saw the animals from them. Instead, there are... More

Visited the wolf preserve while camping at Camp Taylor campground and it was truly an amazing experience! The owners, Jim & Becky, put so much love and time into caring for these beautiful animals and educating the public. Would highly recommend doing a wolf watch as it is an unforgettable experience!

The trip to Lakota rendered me speechless. The wolves are not only beautiful but majestic animals. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and thorough in their explanations about the wolves. At one point, the wolves howled on queue. I almost cried. If you love animals, or just love wolves, this is a must see! Take a good camera, even though they... More

We stayed at Camp Taylor Campground (Great! btw), and spent the morning at the Lakota Wolf Preserve. We went on a VERY busy Saturday. I know the $$ is going to the animals, but they really should limit the number of visitors since it makes it nearly impossible to get close to the enclosures to see the wolves in such... More

Thank you for the kind review but there is no way we would be able to stay in business if we had to limit the number of people on the tours on the weekends. Sorry that you picked a day to visit when we were very busy but we couldn't tell someone who drove 2 hours to get here to... More

The husband and wife who own this must have so much love and patience and lots of passion for the wolves because what they are doing is a work of love. Soon after arriving by shuttle to where the wolves live, they spontaneously howled and I found it so moving I actually cried. It was an amazing sound. I recorded... More

The chance to see different, fascinating wolves up close and to both hear and watch them howl is fascinating. A hardworking, dedicated husband and wife care for them on 10+ acres. They also have a couple of foxes and bobcats that they house, show and explain about. Impossible to overstate what a tremendous experience it is to visit!

I didn't expect much before I went. I figured maybe I'd see some wolves, foxes, and bobcats in a distance... man was I wrong! I've traveled and experienced many things, but this was by far one of the best experiences I've ever had! Not only do the animals come up close, you're educated on EVERYTHING about them and how they're... More

Long hike up (which was nice for us) but there is often a shuttle available. Good & interesting presentation on the wolves, foxes & bobcats, but no un-obstructed view. The main point to see the wolves can get a bit crowded, but you are guaranteed an up close look at the beautiful wolves!
