4 years running now my family has been coming here. It gets better every year. The wolves are beautiful & well taken care of. You can't help but feel invested.

Our family loves wolves so this seemed like a great day trip idea. It was an easy drive there. The hike to the preserve is beautiful, the campgrounds that the preserve is on is very pretty. There is a nice trail and a pretty lake. We went on a Saturday afternoon and there were a lot of people there for... More

We had never heard of this place until we decided to camp at Camp Taylor, which is on the same property. Everyone was talking about it so we figured, why not go visit the wolves? That was one of the best decisions we made! There is a shuttle from Camp Taylor to the reserve, but we decided to just walk... More

I actually camped here that weekend and could hear the wolves howling during the night. It was an amazing experience. They are beautiful and clearly well taken care of. I can't wait to go back.

If you can, make this trip and visit Jim and Becky and the wolves, foxes and bobcats. Not only educational, these are stunning creatures you rarely get to see. Jim and Becky care for these animals, and it shows in every aspect of the tour, talk, preserve. I am longing to go back. Of all my NJ trips, this is... More

This has to be one of the coolest places in the country! Not only do you get to see wolves in their natural habitat, you are greeted and educated by a highly-trained staff and leave the preserve with a better understanding for wolves and other NJ wildlife. Unfortunately, you cannot pet the wolves like you can at Howling Woods in... More

Thank you for your review. glad you had a good time. please know that at howling woods in NJ they have wolf hybrids not purebred wolves that is why you are allowed to pet them. all our animals are real wolves so it is against the law for the public to have contact. Just wanted to clear that up. Thank... More

My grandson has been fascinated with wolves for years. He thoroughly enjoyed this facility. The wolves are enclosed in acres of property and come close to the chain link fence for photo ops. I read the website before hand and got the impression an observation tower was utilized and was glad to discover this was not the case. A couple... More

The Lakota Wolf Preserve is a beautiful wolf sanctuary located on the premises of Camp Taylor. Ensure you arrive at least 30 minutes early to check in. Once you check in, you can walk up to the preserve, just over a 1/2 mile or wait for the shuttle to take you up. My husband and I opted to take the... More

I brought my son to Lakota because it was near the Poconos where we were staying, and my son had studied wolves for a report. It was great and we were focused for an hour, learning about wolves, the rescued bobcats and foxes they had. You can also stay at the campsite. It's located at 89 Mt Pleasant Rd, DO... More

When I told my husband I wanted to go to Columbia NJ for a book signing in a winery, he immediately said, "That's where the wolf preserve is. Let's go!" Located on 12 acres within a campground, this is a semi-remote location that city folk like us can reach. We arrived early for a private photo tour. The guide was... More
