Enjoyed touring first floor of estate. Would have liked to see the rest of the house. I understand that is part of a different tour

The tour guides were knowledgable about Christmas at that time period. The carriage house had hot apple cider (complimentary).

Nice tour. Real Christmas decorations as opposed to the fake greens would have been nice. We were also told that we'd get hot cocoa and there were no beverages on the tour.

The decorations at the Physick Estate are appropriate to the era but it's not possible for us to use real greens for a number of reasons. As a city-owned property, we are required to have non-flammable decorations and best practices for museums preclude the use of natural materials. Real greens may have real bugs which can reek havoc with our... More

The tour was nice and the guide knowledgeable of the building. I'm a frustrated wanna be architect, so all of the structure was interesting to me.

The Emlen Physick Estate is the perfect introduction to Victorian Cape May. Attributed to noted architect Frank Furness, it's a step back in time. Thanks for visiting. More

We toured the estate during a holiday house tour and there were people dressed in period attire and the estate shined. It was welcoming and fun. There were carolers and even an upside down Christmas tree to remember what it was like to be "under the tree" like we did as kids.

Since many of our Christmas traditions got their start in the Victorian era, Cape May is a perfect place to visit during the holidays. The Emlen Physick Estate, decorated authentically in the style of the era is like a place out of time. Thanks for visiting with us. More

We had a nice tour of the estate as part of the Holiday Trolley Tour. We had a group who all enjoyed the flash back to Victorian Times. Our guides were knowledgeable and the tour was just the right amount of time. It was interesting to see how folks lived in those times, what they dined on, and how they... More

When we visited Cape May, New Jersey we also took a tour of this house. It dates back many years to when Cape May was the jewel of the jersey shore. In my mind, it still is. Lovely to amble down its streets and look at all the lovely Victorian Era houses including this one. Well worth the money to... More

Cape May is a town out of time, with lovely architecture, tree-lined, gaslit streets, great restaurants and more. The Emlen Physick Estate is the only Victorian house museum and gives you a glimpse at how life was lived more than 100 years ago. Thank you for visiting. More

Home of a doctor who never saw a single patient. It's a lovely home, we saw it at Christmas, we were only taken through the main floor, we were told lots of neat stories about the man who built the house. Next to the house is the carriage house, it contains a small but cute gift shop.

The Physick Estate was the home of a rather eccentric man who studied medicine but never practiced. It's a fascinating tour of a landmark house attributed to noted Victorian architect Frank Furness. Thanks for visiting. More

The tour of the Emlen Physick is available year-round and it's particularly fun in December when the guides get into character as the Victorian inhabitants of the Estate. During the warmer months, the grounds are used for outdoor events. The Craft Beer and Crab Festival in August is just one of these events, with music, food and family entertainment. Thanks... More
