We love a good pun, thank you very much! We try to change things up from season to season so you'll always have a reason to come back to the Physick Estate. Starting in April, we'll look at how the Victorians were fascinated by the natural world. Please come back and see us again. More

The historic house is an important reminder of how upper-middle class or lower-upper class Philadelphians summered in the late 19th century. Tours are informative and the décor is spot-on for the era.

The satisfaction with this type of attraction is one that depends on ones interests. From an architectural standpoint it is amazing on both the outside and inside. The interior woodwork is most interesting and the period decorations and kitchen equipment are super. The grounds are beautiful and we would recommend walking back to the center of town if you happen... More

We have been trying very hard to capture life as it was lived in the 19th century, so our visitors can experience another time in our history. During the school year, lots of local schoolchildren visit as part of their local history curriculum. We're glad you enjoyed your visit. More

Most of the furniture is original to the house and it is set up pretty much as it was when the family lived there. Our guide, Mary, was very knowledgable, as well as funny.

We've been lucky to have be able to return so many of the original furnishings and fixtures to the building. It was a very modern home in the era, reflecting Dr. Physick's interests and avocations. Thanks for visiting with us. More

Beside the Birds and Beaches... and the classic Victorian Bed & Breakfast establishments... there are several classic & historic venues that provide a deeper glimpse into life in the formulative days of Cape May. Authentially restored and nationally registered, the Physick Estate has Exhibitions, Tours and Seasonal Events to enlighten the Tourist and the Local.

It's been a labor of love for our volunteers and staff to restore and maintain the Estate. We're fortunate to have so many of the original furnishings and fixtures and to be able to open a window on the Victorian world for our residents and visitors. Thanks for stopping by. More

Enjoyed touring first floor of estate. Would have liked to see the rest of the house. I understand that is part of a different tour

We offer a variety of tours, daytime and evening, some which combine a guided trolley tour and visit to the Emlen Physick Estate. The best way to experience the Physick Estate is the 45 minute guided tour that focuses just on this building. We offer changing seasonal exhibits so there's always a reason to return. Thanks for stopping by. More

The tour guides were knowledgable about Christmas at that time period. The carriage house had hot apple cider (complimentary).

Nice tour. Real Christmas decorations as opposed to the fake greens would have been nice. We were also told that we'd get hot cocoa and there were no beverages on the tour.

The decorations at the Physick Estate are appropriate to the era but it's not possible for us to use real greens for a number of reasons. As a city-owned property, we are required to have non-flammable decorations and best practices for museums preclude the use of natural materials. Real greens may have real bugs which can reek havoc with our... More

The tour was nice and the guide knowledgeable of the building. I'm a frustrated wanna be architect, so all of the structure was interesting to me.

The Emlen Physick Estate is the perfect introduction to Victorian Cape May. Attributed to noted architect Frank Furness, it's a step back in time. Thanks for visiting. More

We toured the estate during a holiday house tour and there were people dressed in period attire and the estate shined. It was welcoming and fun. There were carolers and even an upside down Christmas tree to remember what it was like to be "under the tree" like we did as kids.

Since many of our Christmas traditions got their start in the Victorian era, Cape May is a perfect place to visit during the holidays. The Emlen Physick Estate, decorated authentically in the style of the era is like a place out of time. Thanks for visiting with us. More
