The experience could not have been better. The captain and crew were excellent hosts and very knowledgeable. They answered all our questions happily. We learned so much! They also had a hands-on part of the trip and allowed everyone to hold different aquatic life such as starfish, shrimp, whelk (conch) shells, etc. There's even a bathroom on board if needed... More

We did the Wednesday evening wine and cheese cruise. Saw it on the Wetlands Institute website. It was terrific being out on the salt marsh at sunset and the selection of cheeses and crackers offered was generous. It was BYOB. Best part was our crew who were both personable and knowledgeable. It was fascinating to see how much life is... More

Me and my husband did the Stone Harbor Sunset cruise which lasts two hours. It was absolutely great!!! It was very informative, very engaging and just a very good time. The captain and his assistant were fun and very nice. They prepare a nice cheese platter and you can bring a bottle of wine if you would like to. You... More

We took the skimmer trip to try to learn more about the wetlands. We had a wonderful experience with captain Travis being extremely knowledgeable and friendly. I would definitely recommend this to everybody. Beautiful sightseeing plus cheese and crackers are provided by the skimmer for the 6 pm rides.

My family and I went on the crabbing trip on board the Skimmer Salt Marsh Safari on this past Tuesday, July 15, 2014 afternoon trip. We were excited because we have never been crabbing before, but thoroughly enjoyed the safari trip on the Skimmer the last time we were in town, so we decided to give the crabbing trip a... More

Paid 76 dollars for 2 adults and a kid. Had to wait 30 minutes for 4 people who were late so a 930 outing turned into a 1000.They threw crab traps in on the way out and the result was each group of 4 people ended up with 3 crabs , as his joke goes yahoo. A lot of wasted... More

Dear Guest, I am truly sorry that the Crabbing 101 trip was not what you expected. So many people have experienced and loved this trip that I was surprised to see this review. When booking, we normally explain to the guests that we don’t promise everyone will catch enough crabs to make a family meal (although sometimes we do). Perhaps... More

We heard about the Skimmer from out B&B owners and decided to try it out! It was a great trip. The tour guides are very knowledgable about the marsh and everything living there. They have opportunities for some hands on time with some sea creatures! I have a much better understanding about the importance of salt marshes. Highly recommend this... More

3 generations of our family enjoyed the evening tour of the salt marshes and watched up close as osprey and laughing gulls fed their chicks and a ray had an evening meal. Captain Travis shared touch tanks with the kids and educated us all on local ecology and wildlife. We brought wine and kids drinks and they provided cheese, crackers... More

I booked this trip from reading past reviews on Tripadvisor in my quest for things to do in Cape May. This trip was so fun. My husband and I are not "birders", but we do like to get into the culture of where we are visiting. Ed, Ginny and Travis were awesome with their enthusiasm toward nature and teaching everyone... These folks really know their wildlife, and they love to share their knowledge. The whole outing was packed with tidbits of information. They even know the ospreys by name! They even spent several minutes showing a very young passenger live, hands-on examples sea creatures. Don't miss this attraction!
