This 2 hour boat ride was recommended to me by an expert birder. It was a wonderful afternoon in the marshes at high tide in Cape May, one of the premier birding spots on the east coast. I was not disappointed. Captain Hanna and Naturalist Margeaux were top notch with passion and information about birds and ecology. It was a... More

We held a 4th birthday party on the Salt Marsh Safari Skimmer. Our group ranged in age from adults, older children, younger kids, and toddlers. Everyone agrees we had an amazingly enjoyable and educational experience. Captain Travis and his mate were fun, flexible, and knowledgable. Even the adults on the trip learned something new and interesting exploring the coastal wetlands... More

We saved the best for last. We visited the Skimmer on August 8th, 2014 on the 1:30 cruise and had a,great time. Both Travis and Sam gave a wonderful presentation for us on the salt marsh. There were plenty to birds to see as well as an enlightening talk on the importance of the salt marsh. Our cruise wasn't too... More

We took the birding/marshland cruise out of the Wetlands Institute. Was an excellent fun experience even without kids. The captain and staff provided fun filled education about birds, environment, etc. Learned plenty, kids who were present were thoroughly entertained, and cheese and fruit plates excellent. We have been going to Stone Harbor for 25 yrs and this was one of... More

My daughter and I ended up going last minute. We had a great time and the captains were all very knowledgeable and good fun too. If you are a bird watcher then this is your thing but even if you are not its a great chance to learn a little about this amazing environment. We really enjoyed it.

The experience could not have been better. The captain and crew were excellent hosts and very knowledgeable. They answered all our questions happily. We learned so much! They also had a hands-on part of the trip and allowed everyone to hold different aquatic life such as starfish, shrimp, whelk (conch) shells, etc. There's even a bathroom on board if needed... More

We did the Wednesday evening wine and cheese cruise. Saw it on the Wetlands Institute website. It was terrific being out on the salt marsh at sunset and the selection of cheeses and crackers offered was generous. It was BYOB. Best part was our crew who were both personable and knowledgeable. It was fascinating to see how much life is... More

Me and my husband did the Stone Harbor Sunset cruise which lasts two hours. It was absolutely great!!! It was very informative, very engaging and just a very good time. The captain and his assistant were fun and very nice. They prepare a nice cheese platter and you can bring a bottle of wine if you would like to. You... More
