No 2 days are alike!

No two days are the same at the meadows. You never know what you will discover on this hike through the meadows and across the beach. Be sure to take your binoculars!

We always take a sunrise walk at the Meadows when we're in Cape May. It's a great time of day to see birds and enjoy the morning fresh air. This time we saw a cute, newly hatched Oyster Catcher chick with its parents! Still a few warblers in the area too! The Meadows is constantly changing month-to-month so we always... More

We loved our spring walk in the meadows for exercise and bird watching. Yellow rump warblers and palm warblers were in abundance as well as a Eurasian and American wigeons. Every day we walk here we see new birds. It was a bit muddy in some spots so be prepared with appropriate foot wear.

walking around trying to avoid the phragmite spraying was nerve wracking. We could not get away. It ruined what is normally a nice afternoon walk. No fun getting whiffs of herbicide when trying to bird.

This might be my favorite walk in Cape May- We visited CM in early Oct.. specifically over the rainiest Oct days ever!!-- with the remnants of "Karen" passing through. Even though the weather was wet and windy the meadows were still beautiful. Yes- it was muddy- and we had to dress in multiple layers for the wind that would be... More

The Meadows is a must-do stop on every trip to Cape May for us. The Nature Conservancy takes excellent care of this property, removing non-native species and other invasives. Too bad they can't get rid of the invasive swans. In fall this is a great place to see hawks and falcons fly over; all year it can be great for... More

The path is easy to follow and afforded a close look at many different bird species. This time of year we also saw lots of youngsters with their parents: swans, Canada geese, and Osprey. Give yourself enough time to use the path that takes you on the beach as well.

Went on a guided walk organised by the Cape May Bird Observatory. Helpful guides, lovely birds, nice mix of land, sea and shore birds. It would be a fine place to bird by yourself, but the conviviality of the 7.30 am Monday guided walk was great.

We were there for the Annual Birding Festival and did an early morning walk guided by Pete Dunne of the Cape May Bird Observatory. The entire fall festival is an awesome experience, but going on this walk with Pete was fantastic. When he says we had a productive day of birding, you know it had to be a good walk!... More

We took a guided tour with the NJ Audubon and saw many new species of birds- they had removed the invasive species of plants, and we got tips on where to find a monarch roost in Cape May Point
