I did not know there was a Nature Conservancy site in this area. It is a very nice level, gravel, wide path. Wetlands on both sides of the trail offer good views of waterfowl and other birds. The trail offers hiking access to the beach - not for swimming though. The trail also interconnects to Cape May Point hiking trail.

Extraordinary place for birding, especially since Cape May is the home of the World Series of Birding. Each year thousands of people "flock" to this area to observe literally millions of birds (who also "flock" to the area... lol). Bring your binoculars for the best view.

Cape May is a magnate for bird watchers. I do not place myself in that category but this is a place if you want to connect a little bit with nature and you can combine with a visit to the lighthouse There are, I believe two trails, the area give of marsh, pond, meadow and beach. It makes you think... More

Overlooking the historical bay and near the Cape May Lighthouse, this beach is known for its "diamonds" ( polished quartzsite). A great place to jog to or ride a bike. The sunset flag lowering is a great tribute to our vets as the flags used once drapped the caskets of our fallen.

This is THE place to go to watch migrating birds in the fall. Nice mix of salt marsh, pond, field and access to the beach.

If you love nature and birds... be sure to visit Cape May during the Bird Migration... the meadows and the trails along the way provide exceptional views of the birds. Take a tour with the New jersey Audubon Society. Be sure to bring binoculars

First, the Tripadvisor directions send you northwest of Cape May. The Meadows are actually west of Cape May and adjacent to the Light House. We Googled the Meadows Web site and followed their directions. Once there, one finds excellent trails, the scenery is beautiful and the birdlife amazingly vibrant. Plenty of viewing stations or stroll the paths. It is easy... More

A marvelous piece of natural beauty in Cape May. I walked the loop twice. It was windy but there were gulls, hundreds of swallows, and hawks in the air every time I looked up.

We love the meadows for bird watching along the Sunset Boulevard area. There is a wonderful Nature Conservancy area that has regular hikes into the meadows and beaches to see all sorts of wildlife.

I made two stops here during my four-day stay because sometimes you can find great birds and sometimes you find great birders. The Upland Sandpiper, Buff-breasted Sandpiper and Baird's Sandpiper were all new additions to my bird list and nice surprises for a hot sultry day. The view of the beach and meadow plus the changing varieties of hawks, shorebirds,... More
