Birding By Boat from Cape May. We run eco-tours of Cape May Harbor and the coastal salt marsh with up close views of local wildlife. We see many Osprey, migrating shorebirds, herons and egrets, nesting colonies of gulls and terns and many other species as we cruise through the tranquil back bays. Evening trips have the added beauty of sunset along with a local heron rookery. Come join us on one of these special trips.

Knew where to find the birds

Even though there were only 3 customers and a guide the Capt took us everywhere and anywhere to see many birds we had not yet seen in Cape May.

My trip started out to be a opportunity to do some bird photography. What I found was a Great time with an wonderful group of people and a great couple of guys. The crew of two where some awesome guys to hang around with. Both knowledgeable of their craft and birds . Quite educational and fun.

We are addicted to the Osprey. Every trip we’ve taken on it has been great – There are always more good views of more good birds than we’d expected. Captain Bob gets the boat “up close and personal” with the fascinating denizens of the salt marsh. He knows a lot about them and shares his knowledge generously – as do... More

We never miss the Osprey on our twice-yearly trips to Cape May. There's usually a naturalist on the boat and if not, then the Captain does a fine job of calling out birds and identifying them. This boat is flat bottomed and the water is calm so it's great for people like me that tend to be seasick because I've... More

My brother and I took this trip 10 years ago and really enjoyed ourselves. Right after that they no longer ran the trips. We saw it advertised this year and booked a trip. If you are not interested in birds, it is a very relaxing trip just for the ride. We enjoyed ourselves immensely. There are 2 people narrating what... More

Very knowledgeable naturalist and captain on board the osprey. The name of the boat was fitting since we saw plenty of these magnificent birds. The wetlands were where the most birds for your buck. I added 10 species of birds to my life list. I highly recommend the osprey birding tour to be added to the list of things to... More

Highly recommend this trip if you are at all interested in bird watching. Captain Bob and the on board naturalist were both very good at spotting and identifying a number of different species. We saw many different types of birds on our 2 hour trip including osprey, egrets, blue herons, american oystercatcher, greater yellowlegs, night herons, whimbrel, plovers, cormorants and... More

We were out on the water longer than scheduled and it was a very pleasant few hours. We saw many birds and enjoyed our time on the water.

the captain can steer this boat right up to places in the wetlands that are not accessible to normal boats. His naturalist was superb at spotting birds that were unique and he explained their habits and plumage. You have to take this trip.

We decided to take this tour and really enjoyed it. 2 Hour boat ride, we went in the morning, we had a great weather day, but do bring bug spray for the green head flies. The captain and naturalist were very informative. We saw lots of Osprey nests, different birds and laughing gull nesting areas too. They supply binoculars and... More
