We saw TALLY'S FOLLY at the Cape May Stage about 10 years ago. The show was great, but we were pretty uncomfortable in the folding chairs. We were so happy to see that the theater has installed upholstered seating in the intervening years. We had perfectly comfortable seats in the air conditioned auditorium, and the show was still great! THE... More

I often go to a show here when I'm on vacation in this beautiful town. Of course I might like one particular production more than another however they are always top notch. The theater is quaint, always a good seat and the people who volunteer their time really care. I always look forward to seeing a production here.

The other evening we had the good fortune of seeing " The Search for Signs of Intelligent Life in The Universe" and thoroughly LOVED it. Tricia Alexander was absolutely wonderful in her role as the sole actor ( 9 parts) as was the director Roy Steinberg. In all of the years we have been coming to Cape May we have... More

This one-woman show was thoroughly enjoyed by my girlfriend and I. Tricia Alexandro was excellent, portraying multiple characters from multiple backgrounds, including the narrator, a homeless woman named Trudy. I cannot recommend this show enough. Ms. Alexandro received a well-deserved standing ovation when the show was done. If you are in or around Cape May, don't miss it.

In July, my wife and a friend and I attended a performance of 'Mary, Mary" at Cape May Stage. Every year, we make it a priority to do dinner and a show. As usual, we got our tickets through Frescos (see separate review.) While the show itself (the story) did not meet the highest standards we expect from past experience,... More

This small intimate theater is a nice part of authentic Cape May experience. The former Visitor Welcome center is tastefully decorated, outfitted with comfortable seating and offers excellent performances by diverse cast. The only suggestion I would have is more contemporary repertoire.

At the Robert Shackleton Playhouse in Cape May, NJ (Cape May Stage), they have exhumed a play from the 1960s entitled "Mary Mary," a forgotten piece that should have been allowed to rest in peace. To great triumph, someone announced at the beginning that the play was written . . . by a woman. Cue the applause. That it was... More

My wife and I have enjoyed the entire season of plays this year. We subscribed to the opening night series and were delighted with the quality of each production. The theater is beautiful and the sets are imaginative and carefully made. We enjoyed it so much that we have subscribed for the entire 2015 season. By the way, opening night... More
