We opted for the horse drawn carriage tour rather than the trolley as it was so inviting on a bright sunny day. We were introduced to our guide Dot and our horse Stormy. Dot had a blanket ready for us on the somewhat chilly day. It was warm enough that we did not use it but what a nice bonus.... More

Thank you Donna.our first review of 2014 !!!and you said 'Awesome".The drivers like to start as soon as it gets warm and sunny here. The horses have gotten a bit overweight from standing around all winter, LOL,and they need some light work.Actually our drivers are taking some of the horses out for a trail ride tomorrow.,nice way to do some bonding.Glad... Oh What fun it was to ride in a one horse open carriage this weekend in Cape May. We joined friends this weekend for a ride through Historic Cape May. Our driver was wonderful at giving us an informative tour. The homes were beautifully decorated for the holidays. Would recommend this for couples or families. We then enjoyed walking around... More

Thanks for writing,I'm glad you had a fabulous time with us this December. The lights in town are absolutely beautiful this time of year. This is the favorite time for many of our "regulars" as it is quiet and just a lovely sight to see.Our homeowners outdo themselves lighting their homes.I put my holiday flamingos on the front porch and light em... I love to take the carriage rides through Cape May no matter the weather or season. Better to see the homes & shops at a slow pace and get historic information about them. (No one honks at you for driving too slowly!!) Starts in the heart of downtown Cape May's shopping & dining district, and ,also, has clean public restrooms!

We also like when the honking stops, lol.I'm so happy to hear you had a great ride with us.I thank you for taking the time to write. The drivers do keep several large blankets for passengers to cuddle up in,that seems to be half the fun of the fall ride.Town is relaxed and the lights are starting to go up on our... A half hour ride through the historic district was just the break in the day for which we were looking. It turned out to be a very interesting ride and narrative about the history of Cape May and many of the individual homes and buildings along the route. Stories of gambling halls, gentlemens clubs, bordellos, widow's walks and the like... More

I enjoyed our tour and the scenery, as always in Cape May, is gorgeous. The carriage driver was very well informed and friendly. Clearly they market to some restaurants in the circuit they take in terms of making recommendations, but that was not bothersome to me. I would recommend highly.

Thank you for your 5 star review.it is appreciated, though I must correct your statement about 'marketing' to certain restaurants. Our drivers will tell you their favorites IF ASKED but any restaurant on the tour route gets treated equally.Usually the building or restaurant itself has a connection to the history of Cape May.The architecture, the original owners, the clientele, even the paint color are... Though we did have to wait a while to get a carriage, it was well worth it. We were taken through the streets of Cape May, during a lightly rainy afternoon. It was great to hear about the architecture, families and lore of this lovely city. The homes are beautiful, and viewing them from a horse drawn carriage was a... More

A carriage ride or even a wagon ride is a super way to learn some history of Cape May. The carriages are nicely appointed and even have blankets for chilly evenings. coachmen and women provide interesting insight into Victorian ways and give you a little history about Cape May. Well worth the fare. But, make sure to make reservations early.... More
