Washington Square is a cute place to walk around and shop, either for gifts to take home or for yourself! We visited all kinds of little shops and found fresh ground coffee, salt water taffy, a Swedish themed gift shop and more. Even if shopping isn't your thing, it's a very pretty area to take a walk through.

A four block mall area in the center of the city with lots of small shops and places to enjoy lunch and dinner. Need a break? There are lots of benches in the sun and shade to sit and people watch. "Comfort Stations" easy to find.

My book club was just in Cape May for a weekend getaway (our second time to this location) and going to the Washington Street Mall was one of our ‘must do’ activities. There are so many different shops of all varieties along the mall that anyone can find a shop or two to browse. The mall is brick covered and... More

Lots of shops and places to eat. Had some pizza, bought a scarf at the Oriental Imports, benches to sit on if you want, metered parking took credit cards.

My favorite place to shop. Pleasant and relaxing. Great variety. Beautiful building. Good prices. Check out The Zoo Company.

Really ... there is something for everyone in the Washington Street Mall area of Cape May. Early September, it was still a little tough to find parking ... we did find a church you could park at for a donation ... I can't imagine parking during the height of tourist season. BUT ... it is a great little area ...... More

I have lived in NJ 20 years and had never been to Cape May. We stayed in a beach motel about 2 blocks from here (see Beach Shack review). This is such a cute little beach, shopping district. Lots of ice cream places and beachy-stores. I really liked the fact that almost every store was open until 9:30pm on Saturday!... More

Some shops are junk shops but there are interesting shops and galleries mixed in. We found two unique T-shirts and a pair of earrings.

A trip to the shore doesn't seem complete without a stroll through the Washington Street Mall even if you don't intend to buy a thing. There are many adorable little shops (some date back to my childhood & my daughter now loves them - thank you Zoo Company & Whale's Tale) as well as a variety of restaurants, cafes and... More

Cape May is a city at the southern tip of Cape May Peninsula in Cape May County, New Jersey, where the Delaware Bay meets the Atlantic Ocean. This is one of the oldest vacation resort destinations in the U.S. so it is very historic. I especially appreciate the many examples of Victorian architecture. There are so many cozy bed and...
